What is Your Favorite Jacket?

Hey, I am just curious about what jackets people out there are getting.

Textile or Leather?
Sport Cut, European (tight) or Relaxed Fit?
Black, black/white or with colors?
Brands? (large branding or simple without)

pictures would be great!

Leather for sure. Stylistically I like jackets with speed humps. For our summer heat perforated is a must. Alpinestars is my fav brand because of fit and price.

I have an Icon Contra and love it.

1. In the heat I can take out the lining and it's great flow
2. In the cool weather I put the liner back in and I'm golden
3. In the really cold weather I take out the liner, and replace it with a heated jacket liner and fits great.

I have a leather jacket but just don't like riding in it unless I'm going fairly far as within the city and quick jaunts I just take the Icon.

-Leather no doubt. Though I have one Spidi Multitech jacket which is a mesh/armor type jacket for the summer (feels inadequate though)

-I prefer really aggressive sport cut

-Gravitate towards black. Though some neutral colours are ok. Not a fan of predominantly lighter shade jackets.

-I like subtle branding. I hate brand specific moto jackets (the ones that have Yamaha or Suzuki, or Triumph, etc etc).

You asked for pics, so this is the jacket i'm rocking currently:

Unfortunately, it's not perforated so summer rides do get kinda hot. I'm in the market for a fully perf'd one.

I prefer textile jacket

Why: Lighter, More comfortable, Water Proof (usually)

I currently riding with a Streetz Street Deamon Jacket. (See Pic Below)

Agressive sport cut, European fitting. Lots of air vents for the summer. removable thermal liner for colder weather.

Very not obtrusive branding, not a fan of Huge Advertisements Across my jackets.

Paid about $250 for it.

I do own other jackets including leather jackets, but dont wear them often anymore.

I love my white Icon Overlord Prime Leather Jacket. The Prime is an "attack fit/sport fit" and it does fit pretty snug. It is perforated leather so it does breathe a little but I am not gonna lie, it is damn hot on summer days. One of the reasons I went white was to help a little on those hot sunny days. In leather every little bit helps. I also have an Icon textile version of the Overlord but I only wore that for my course weekend. Always ride with the leather jacket.

What exactly is European TIGHT cut? :lmao:

I have a Dainese that I love, it is tight around the belly but I suspect the reason is not the cut (perhaps too much food ? :-? Yeah, I think that it is)

my favorite is an all black Bristol, Canadian made and fits me well, next is a Schott 141. I'm not fond of looking like I missed the turn in for the motogp track.

bought an Aerostitch Darien jacket off some guy on kijiji for $150... He told me it was a couple years old but never really worn...

Best jacket I've owned to date by far! Goretex is killer for rain I love it! Fit and finish are unparalleled as well.

The armour in the jacket is miles ahead of anything 'ce' approved I've had before. You can tell it will help in a crash.

also came with the t-tec liner ($200 value) which I wear as a sweater all the time off the bike.

The textile they use is top notch. Again, you can tell it will hold up excellently in a crash. Really feel safe and it is not bulky at all (I've heard motoport kevlar mesh gets bulky).

Has huge vents for airflow. Not quite enough to phase out my textile gear but very close!

Some of my riding buddies say I look like a Gestapo wearing it... Don't really see the resemblance but w/e

In sum, I will be a lifelong customer of aerostitch. Even at full price I would have paid for it. It really is THAT good.

P.S. I own a bunch of leathers, textile, and mesh gear ranging all over the place in price... Aerostitch for the win you won't be sorry!

Theoretically I love the looks of a classic simple leather jacket like a Vanson or Schott, almost bought a Vanson Comet last year but it didn't fit me. For every day use though, I like my Teknic Freeway touring jacket. It's waterproof, and has a bazillian pockets for storing stuff. Doesn't look too cool though.
