What is wrong with people?

Wow! That's just f'ed up o_O

One of the construction workers is now dead so it's a homicide investigation and, the SIU has been called in - not sure why?
There was a German Shepard dog taken over by animal control at the scene. The dog is said to have been in the vehicle that crashed into the workers. Wonder if the driver was working for TPS perhaps in the canine training and/or care area? Can't understand why the SIU would be called in. I guess we'll see.

Animal Control is called in automatically if the owner is taken into custody.
 
I didnt read anything about SIU. Road workers dont take kindly to having someone putting their lives at risk. The ctv story said the driver was approached by the workers. "The witness said that a group of construction workers then approached the pickup and attempted to pull the driver out of the vehicle."

I wouldnt be surprised if the driver was trying to defend himself. If he was a cop that would explain the SIU. This story is already weird.
 
I'm betting on off duty cop, drunk, has accident, people surround his car, so he pulls gun and starts shooting. Also betting on radio silence on this and the guy getting a very lenient sentence.

That area is YRP if I am not mistaken.

"The suspect was taken into custody by members of York Regional Police but the investigation has since been handed over to Toronto police."

EDIT. YRP just happened to show up first from what I understand so I was reading more into it than is there.

It was on the evening news CFTO I believe that I heard the SIU reference. They had been called but hadn't showed up yet and it was unknown if they would be taking over the case or not. It's my understanding SIU only gets involved if there's police involvement in the original occurrence? Strange indeed!
 
Looks to me like a car jacking.... Truck was stolen, they said the dog was the owners dog not perps dog.....

Car jacked the truck, dog was inside. Guy was flying hit the construction workers and crashed. Workers drag him out, ahole kills one of them, the rest disarm him and hold him (hopefully with extreme prejudice) until police arrive.

SIU, maybe there was a chase at one point or they were at least looking for the guy.....

Yup, pickups are being stolen in record numbers across the province.
