What if you're actually based in two addresses?

I know this has been discussed before but it's not what I'm asking. I'm NOT in a situation where I live in one place but want to register my bike in another with an insurance company.

Discounting work and going out, I would probably leave my bike on the street where I'm renting a place probably M-Th and back at my mom's place F-Su. Am I still supposed to register my bike where I rent? The former rental apartment is really just that: temporary. The latter, however, is the actual permanent address where I receive everything.

The premiums are roughly the same for both addresses so I'm not concerned about that, but I'm just wondering what would happen if I register one address and get into trouble in the other area.

What really matters is where your bike will be garaged for the majority of days during the riding season. In your situation, it sounds like it will be primarily garaged at your rental location. If the situation changes, it only takes a quick call to your broker/agent to change the Postal Code that is driving your rate.

So I live somewhere but keep my bike at work the whole time. what then?

Your bike is garaged at work every night?

My situation will be similar to AC's. I will leave it parked on the road (there's no garage). Good thing it's right across from the police station.

Do you sleep at work or something? :p

If the bike is indeed left at your workplace every night, then you would use your workplace as the rated address.

Insurance companies aren't smart enough to think of non-standard circumstances, and if they did, you'd just end up paying MORE for any such special situations.

Get a quote on both addresses.

Go with the cheaper one lol
