What direction should I go with this scooter?

I've essentially called as many brokers as I can in Ontario and the majority of them refuse to insure me. I'm 20, with an M1 (M2 doesn't seem to make a difference.) and a CF MOTO 150cc E-Charm scooter. The ones that have accepted me (such as TD.) have a year fee for about 3000-3100.

I was under the impression that scooters were cheaper on insurance, but they seem to cost just as much as a motorcycle.

I've come across quite a good amount of brokers and insurance companies that take people with the age of 21+ (Riders Plus) Should I wait a year, or just deal with the 3k payment
this year and get the experience? (is paying 3k and getting the experience worth it?)

I've tried StateFarm (5 years of G experience required), Jevco (taken over by Intact, required 21), RBC (required full M, or something along those lines.)

My options seem pretty scarce right now, I have applied to facility association through a broker. If someone could explain how facility works; it would be great. Will I get a cheaper premium than the 3150 from TD than facility?

So yeah, either I just get my M2 and wait a year (until I am 21.), or I go for TD or facility. What should I do?

Recent quote from Desjardin's assuming I have an M2 (no age restrictment at Desjardin's, woo!): $1420 for a year.

I'll most likely do a course and get the M2 in 2 months, and go with that

3k isn't the worst. It's what I pay for my first year (22, male, M1/M2, 83 GS400, Hamilton).

Even though it won't help you get coverage any cheaper, you should report your experience to the ombudsman of each company, as I believe they're required by law to quote you (even if it's $18,000/year).

I wish I could give you good news, but this is Ontario. You live in literally insurance hell.

I believe they're required by law to quote you (even if it's $18,000/year).

I think that only applies if they deny you for too many tickets/accidents etc. Im not sure if it applies with restrictions they have set (e.g. Statefarm 5 years from G1 for motorcycle insurance, TD requires doing course to be eligible for motorcycle insurance, etc).

50cc scooters are cheap. That extra 100cc is making it the price of a full moto. That Desjardin quote on M2 is the about right.
