What did YOU pay OTD

Hey guys, i'm looking for your help!! Im looking to buy a 2013 CBR600rr (since 2012 CBR600rra is no longer available in ONT), i've been to a few dealers in the GTA area and had really no luck with negotiating the MSRP of 12,599.00 +++. Suzuki on the other hand were more than happy to waive the +++ and sell me a gsxr right than and there...but sadly I want a CBR. I know hondas have always been the most expensive 600 out there but doing a bit of research on other forums in other provinces, people were getting 2012's for even less than honda's discounted MSRP ($3000 off). Am I not being aggressive enough??

If anyone out there has bought a 2013 CBR600rr, PLEASE tell me how much and which dealer you went too. Im hoping to buy 1 before this season ends.

im in the same boat as you...i dont think honda canada imported all that many 600's this year so theres not a huge glut of them to get rid of.
kind of a hard pill to swallow to pay almost $15k OTD for one when you can get a gixxer750 for around $12k OTD...i just cant pull the trigger on a the gixxer, although im sure its a great bike
im hoping prices drop this winter on unsold cbr's.....most people seem to hate the look of the front end so hopefully there will be lots of unsold leftovers..
good luck !

If you want one now expect to get a few hundred bucks off at the most. Mark ups on bikes aren't huge.
If you can wait till next season for a left over '13 then Honda will have rebates offered to dealers to move old inventory.
The problem with the later is actually being able to find a left over '13

If you want a discount you're going to have to wait. If you were ok with a '12 just buy a 2009+ used, its the same thing and you'll save a few thousand. The big piston forks on the '13 look sweet but I wouldn't pay several thousand for them....

Not for nothin but I know I was told Brampton is sold out of them and won't be able to get any more in this year. I got a great discount buying my gsxr there but it was a '12 and I bought it in march this year. Maybe if you wait until the bike show in the winter you'll find a dealer with one that you can get for a better price? As said the big difference is the forks this year so if it were me I'd be looking at a 11-12 to save more than you will getting a discount on a new one (and mostly because the front end on the 13 is hideous) but that's just my opinion.

Not that I'm trying to change your mind but yesterday I watched the middleweight SS shootout between F3, R6, new CBR 600, GSX R600, Triumph 675, Ducati 848 and Ninja 636. Surprisingly the Gixxer holds on to its numero uno position 3 years in a row since Suzuki did a complete overhaul. Even more surprising to me is the fact that the new CBR came last, producing the smallest hp and not very good front brake.

I was looking to buy the 2012 CBR last year when they had big discount but too bad Brampton only had the ABS version left and I wasn't willing to spend another grand for that. A month later I came back and the CBR was still there, I didn't like the new Gixxer headlight but I realized the more I look the more I like it especially the black color one. Also I got a good price for the gixxer, with big piston Showa and Brembo front brake you can't go wrong with that.

I actually almost got involved in an accident about two weeks ago, I was so sure I wasn't gonna make it until I hit my front brake at 100 km/hr. I was braking and changing lane at the same time tried to avoid the car in front, the rear was fish-tailing as I brake really hard. That Brembo stopped me from hitting the car in front with just 5 cm left from its rear bumper. It would have been a different story if I had a Nissin front brake.

this shootout puts the honda fifth behind the kawi, triumph 675, yammy and gsxr 750 and ahead of the 848, gixxer 600 and mv f3

goes to show you the difference between these bikes is miniscule and the pecking order can change on any given day....

if you want a new '11 cbr600 theres this one , but the asking price is a joke...maybe if you call and refer them to the price on hondas website they can match it ?? i believe 2011's were going for 10199 plus dealer prep plus taxes and license this past spring, so around $12K OTD

Think a CBR is expensive??? Try a Kawi zx 636...almost the price of an R1!

Whats the going price of a 2013 cbr600rr then? I paid $13,000 OTD for my 2013 ZX636 in December of 2012 no haggling just "I have cash how much", damn I didnt know I could get an R1 for that price OTD!

PS mine was a non ABS so roughly $700 cheaper then ABS model

Good luck getting any discounts on a Honda I though about buying one in 09, but changed my mind shorty after visiting the local Honda dealers. They all seem to have this "its a Honda" attitude and wont give even a cent off their bikes...And since everyone knows the SS class is so close why should I pay $2000 more for one over the other, unless of coarse you are a big Honda fan.....And to top it off I bought a Kawi instead, had the 09 in my position in Dec 18th 08 my birthday! Honda told me I would not be able to get a cent off the msrp and I wouldnt have the bike till at least march...wtf?

Yes I bought a new 2013 ZX6R, I ordered and put my deposit down for it in Dec 2012, I picked it up in Jan 2013....And I paid $13000 OTD for it.....Same price I paid for my 2009 ZX6R that I also ordered in Dec 08, however that time the bike came in 2 weeks after I ordered it on dec 18th 2008. So I had the 09 model in 08, I got called out about that enough times already but the bike was in my hands

Now tell me the harsh news......I paid too much? the bikes are crap?

OK... After reading this the news, I'm about to tell you is not THAT harsh...:p

On November 2009, Kahuna decided to sell of all their overstocked 2012 ZX6Rs for $9,000 OTD. I think people here were like,"some one please buy this..". I was very seriously considering walking there and purchasing one ( even though I still find handling the little 300 challenging sometimes!)

But reading all your posts I see you always go for the "next year's newer generation models" so this news would be redundant! :)

BTW just out of curiosity what did you pay for your Ninja 300 OTD?

$7,068 after a $350 discount from kahuna OTD. ( you see why I was interested in the ZX 6R so much in 2012)??

$13000 OTD for a new model year in december is spot on. Even when they were blowing out 2012's they ran upwards of 11k
I would have squeezed you for more because its in your handle :p

Not harsh at all I was offered one of those left overs for way way less then $9,000 OTD, and I could get one today for even cheaper then what I was offered before, but they only have red left I believe. And I already own an 09 so there is no reason for me to buy a 12....

I would only buy the new model if Im going to buy new from a dealer, used different story, but if Im paying anything near $10,000 I only want the most current model...

I will compare that with my Ninja 300 quote, just have to find it....I was shown the cost price of the 300 and there really is no markup on that bike, most of the discounts on those bikes come from the fees...I was told they could only do msrp and no fees...All the fees still added up to about $700 off

You got it spot on! There's very little mark up on them ( probably because they are significantly more expensive than other entry level bikes, a trait kawasaki seems to be following with its other bikes as well!)

All the discount I got was from freight charges off and some BS promotional coupon worth $150

Yup PDI and freight are good for about $500+ alone

I finally got to demo that 2013 636 this Saturday and it was amazing.

I can only compare street riding in the first 3 gears (LOL) to the Honda, but almost everything that's said about these two bikes is true, with the exception of build quality - I didn't notice a huge difference on my short rides with them.

The honda is much more comfortable (albeit the shifter peg is too close to the foot peg, for me) - the Kawi felt similar to the R6, and was way more exciting once you open up the throttle compared to the Honda. The Kawi stopped sooner than I expected; the Honda was right where I thought it'd be.
