When the video started in my browser as a Youtube ad, I thought it was all sarcastic, but it's not !

Great ad and they have done a very good job of it.
There is some great riding here and the ad hits the nail on the head with the "If you are on a 400 series you are going the wrong way!"

I've been to half the places in that video lol

Nice.. is it as good as advertised ? Would you go to PA or ON if you have a long weekend to spare ?

edit: Just counted - I've been to 20 states on the bike, from FL to CA, yet never been north of Wasaga Beach, ON lol

I still like riding in Ontario. It will never compare to a lot of nice areas in the USA but it's closer and it's home.

There are some proper nice roads, but it takes a long *** time to get to them and there is usually not much in between. If you're looking for Deal's Gap in Ontario it doesnt exist, but if you want a nice ride there is loads of stuff up north or out east.

Anybody know what that single lane road is at the end of the video?

Thanks for the info. I will stick with the south then, where everything is cheaper anyways =)

Living in the Sault I find it kinda funny listening to the "Ontario SUCKS!" bellyaching. GTA folks think Ontario ends at Barrie, lol. Then there's the "oooooohhhh that road doesn't have pristine black asphalt! not good enough!"

Ontario does end in Barrie regarding riding roads, if your approaching from north lol

But to me, the real question was, "do I wanna go 100kms north or south?" and came to the conclusion without too much argument that I like filling my 19L-tank for only $14, sleep at a Motel6 for $39.99 and going up the elevation, that is greater than Blue Mountain(!) lol

Highest elevation in ON is 2275ft according to here: http://www.ottertooth.com/Geo/ont-ht.htm

I guess I'm just overly patriotic :P

My lack of passport is also a factor. Either way, I love riding up here. You meet great people and see some pretty cool stuff. Being right near the 129 is great too :D just gotta watch it lol, the Thessalon OPP detachment knows me by name/bike/exhaust note now

I've ridden this loop many times:
http://northernontario.travel/algoma-country/ontario-s-finest-motorcycle-roads-the-grand-algoma-loop

And the odd time I felt ballsy I took the 675 on the hard-pack or gravel too. The best part about Northern ON/Algoma County? I'd hazard a guess that an easy 90% of people and businesses are motorcycle friendly.

With all that being said I'm always that one guy on a SuperSport out riding with V-stroms and ADV bikes up here, so...lol.

Coming from a tightly packed European country, northern Ontario holds a great allure. What it lacks in culture it more than makes up in trees and pavement. And water.

I'd be careful with that statement. There's tons of culture and history packed into the great white north.

Yah, couldn't see it for the trees. (you know I'm just joking, right?)

Europe has thousand+ years history and the culture that goes with it. North America holds a huge fascination for a lot of young and not so young European romantics. The wild west, open spaces etc.
