So yesterday i was coming back from work and i was behind this convertible on hwy 410, when suddenly this biznatch throws out a cigeratte without even caring that there is a bike riding behind her. thanks to my jacket that nothing happened. I went beside her and gave her a wtf was that!! look.

so watch out fellow riders and ride safe!
 
Re-iterating previously posted advice on this forum, attach a cup of pennies to your handle bars, and let the fun begin.
 
happened to me with a guy in a sedan (not convertable). the moron throws his cigarett out and it hit my visor! thank go it was down since i ride with it up. I also went by him and gave him a piece of my mind as it could blind someone if it hits them in the eye! Either way, completely irresponsible of him (and me for pulling up next to him lol)
 
Haha it happened to me tonight on the 401. Buddy threw the butt out of his sunroof, I saw it coming but could nothing and then clunk it hit me in the forehead of the helmet. Nothing I could do and didn't know if it was on purpose.
 
Keep pennys handy. I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago. I pulled the guy out of the car and beat him to a pulp. Last I heard he takes the bus to work

The thing is that it doesn't even cross their mind what the consequences are. To be honest in the 15 years I was driving before I got my bike license and before I quit smoking, I never though anything about flicking my butt out the window.... I actually threw EVERY butt out the window now that I think about it without realizing what I was doing.... Got lucky and didn't have a bike behind me while I did that I guess

best thing is get in front of them, and throw a spark plug (aim for their windshield)
 
I had an empty skid fall off a pick up truck 20 years ago - scared the crap out of me. Swerved just in time to miss it.

Red necks drinking beer in a pick up truck in Florida threw a beer can at me (missed). But when I saw the short 2x4 coming next - I hit the brakes and high tailed it out of there.

I always accellerate past gravel trucks, because of loose flying stones, trucks or trailers carrying loose building material, landscape waste etc...

Ride safe...with your eyes opened...ready to react.
 
Yep, butts are often thrown at riders. It's a common complaint. I had one almost go in the passenger window from my car the other day. Not sure why people can't be just a little more thoughtful with their cigarettes.
 
When you're riding behind someone smoking you can smell it... why not just change lanes and or pass them before the smoke gets tossed???

Because then we would be unable to come on the interwebz and start warning/complaint threads. Come on Raf, you know better than that.
 
Does anyone actually think that someone intentionally inhaling carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, and DDT has any real concerns for you?
If you can smell it or see it, find a new lane or get ready, cuz that smouldering butt is coming at some point.
 
I'll never really understand why smokers think it's okay to constantly litter. Disgusting.

Meh, there are plenty of non-smokers that do worse. I've had bags of chips tossed my way on the highway. The bag wasn't even done last time.

I'm guessing if you collected all the tossed butts in the world (at entrance ways, highway, etc) and all the bags of chips there'd be a lot more butts than chips. Aside from that, it doesn't make it right for either party. Smokers on average though believe they can litter when they want!
