I've never owned a bike before this year and I wanna take it to the coin op to clean her up after this longer then required winter. Other then the obvious like no armor all on the tires is there any other areas a should avoid washing or rinsing off?

Thanks in advance.

Don't rinse the hell out of your chain and try not to shoot water into the exhaust, also use a different wash cloth for the fairings and metal parts...
If you use the same one, wash the fairings first. You don't want to pick up some abrasive **** and rub it all up on your fairings.

just use a bucket and sponge and water. I use motorcycle stuff spray cleaner and polish for fairings and frame and bon ami on all crome and glass and lens.

My 2005 sv650s looks like new but i clean everytime before a ride but this stuff works and have been using it for last 4 years.

The high pressure spray from the hose can damage your wheel bearings and fork seals. Avoid spraying it in the exhaust or intake. If there's a lower pressure rinse on the dial use that (at mine it's called spotless rinse and it's half the pressure).

Black vehicles are the hardest to keep clean however it looks amazing when it is. Use the two bucket system to help eliminate spider webbing.

I live in a condo so I generally have to rely on car washes. If you're going to use pressure, use a lot of stand off. I basically stand in front of the bike and sweep down the sides from a distance, not up close. Stay away from bearings, seals, etc, and you should be fine. Or better off, find someone with a house who doesn't mind letting you use his driveway for a bit.
