Wow, Its a scary when people with these powerful bikes have more balls then skills.
That guy was all over the road and a danger to everyone on it.
Still sucks the searched without a warrant.

No kidding

Wonder if the footage is date/time stamped? No way to prove the video was recorded by him assuming the camera was off before the cops pulled him over. That's why you put the SD card in your pocket as you're getting pulled over :)

You don't think the cop will notice you undoing the back of the camera and taking the SD card out and putting it in your pocket?

How many times does it have to be said. If you're going to do something stupid, don't record it. C'mon!

Effectively eliminating 1000s of hours of entertainment for the rest of the world to see?

I think not :lmao:

Keep the cameras rolling boys :)

It doesn't matter if he see's you. The point is, if it's on your person, he doesn't have access to it.

Warrants have never been needed if there was probable cause.

If the cops saw you do something bad, and then saw that you have a camera that was running, they have probable cause for seizing anything that could provide evidence (e.g. the camera). This is nothing new.

Also, if you take that recording, and broadcast it over the internet, it is now in plain sight. No warrant is needed to do whatever they want to do with it.

A fishing expedition in which the cops didn't see you do something bad, but see that you have a camera that might show that you did something bad, that's a different situation.

Running a camera while you are riding is all well and good as long as you are behaving. If you are not behaving, and the cops see you do something, that camera just provided the evidence for conviction.

Manage what you record, very carefully, bearing in mind that it's not legal to exceed the speed limit, not even by 1 km/h.

P.S. this rider was an idiot; the unsafe overtaking is the most blatant problem.

They can't charge you for 1km/h right? When I got a ticket for 3km/h over the cop said that was the lowest ticket they have? I wasn't sure if he was just talking $$ amount or meant the speed.

They can ticket you for it, but if you take it to court, people would probably give the cop a wtf look. Assuming thats your only ticket..

I'm pretty sure there's no ticket for 1km/h over. I'm looking through the online HTA stuff now.

You should re-read the HTA then... If you are caught going 1KM/H over the speed limit then the charge would be $3 + surcharge + court fees. If it's a construction zone... It's $6

Penalty
(14) Every person who contravenes this section or any by-law or regulation made under this section is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable, where the rate of speed at which the motor vehicle was driven,

(a) is less than 20 kilometres per hour over the speed limit, to a fine of $3 for each kilometre per hour that the motor vehicle was driven over the speed limit;

Can't this guy turn the table and sue the cops for copyright infringement? They took the video the rider filmed and broadcasted it on the internet without the copyright owner's permission.
