WARNING: No More Motorcycle Parking at 15 York St. (TELUS House / A.C.C.)

Hi,

ATTENTION: For those who park their motorcycles near the bicycle racks behind Realsport at 15 York St., the management is now ticketing motorcycles.

For the past couple of years, it's been possible for motorcycles to park near the bicycle racks behind the Realsport restaurant near the ACC and TELUS House. Apparently, those privileges are now curtailed. I parked my bike this afternoon at 12:30 in that area. There was one other bike, a Honda CB450, parked there as well. When I came back out after work, I had a $30 ticket attached to the bike. The Honda had a similar ticket. The ticket is issued by the City and not the local parking authority. It is a Code 3: "Parking on Private Property Without Consent of the Owner". There was no announcement by the facilities management to the tenants that ticketing of motorcycles was now going to be enforced.

It might be coincidence but this comes on the heals of the takeover of the parking facilities by Precise Parklink. It might be a maneuver to force all parking to use paid facilites. Too bad for us motorcyclists because there is absolutely no P-parking available in this area and this bike rack area was very popular.

Man, it seems that the City of Toronto just keeps getting expensive. Just to think there'll be a toll roads, parking tax and extra gas tax... and the best of all, a regional sales tax, all in the name to sell 'The Big Move' project.

Being familiar with the company I can say this is almost certainly the case. You might try opening a dialogue with whoever is closest to being responsible for the parking facilities there, whoever owns that property (NOT Precise Parklink, but likely whoever their liason is)

I used to park my KTM There for two years without any issues. Thanx for the warning.

I am a bit pived to see large scooters parking on the boulevard (space between sidewalk and street) without any issues. Every time I attempted that I got a ticket.

I am willing to pay for parking, but two parking lots by my work don't allow bikes.

I work at 25 York since recently and I was wondering where I could park the bike. I guess nowhere :)

Sure, there is parking available if you want to park in any of the parking lots available in the area and pay for the privilege. However, there are no free parking facilities available of which I am aware within reasonable walking distance.

So there is no green p street parking whatsoever in this area?
Correct. I've worked in this area for two years and have sought such parking. There is no street-based green-P parking within convenient walking access of this area. There is street parking towards Front and Yonge, and I think some towards Front and University. There is a green-P parking lot just south of Lakeshore but bikes have to pay. All other lots in the vicinity are private and bikes have to pay. The underground parking at 25 York and 15 York are available but bikes have to pay. Tough break.

Sorry to see it go like that...

That is all dug up with construction. Some cars are parked along the street but I am not sure if that is allowed at all.
There is small parking in corner left rest is condo hole.

*Can't park there, it's a construction zone. -_-

Also saw a cbr inside the bicycle cage where we use to park. Could the parking maid still give me a ticket if he can't place it on my bike?

Saw a couple bikes on the grass part between the sidewalk and the parking lot. I'm going to try parking there.

Where there's a will, there IS a way.
