Columbia has terrific fishing shirts with sun block and lots of pockets. Technical fabric that stays cool ( stay off cotton ).
Love mine

then JR mesh jacket with armor - with a liner can go from 30 down to 10

Pants up to you but depending on terrain you can go with knee armor under lighter over pants.

That's the combo for me in tropical Australia.

Bamboo socks are excellent as well.

I just wear Gortex hiking boots with bamboo socks for foot gear.

^ Hmm, doesn't look as breathable as mesh.

OP, definitely check out Winners/Marshalls. They're hit or miss and stock changes almost daily but I've found some great items there including mesh/dri-fit type shirts that have UPF 30+ at great prices. Shirts for $20-30. They also get brands like Timberland, Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, etc.

There is also a great article hear by a guy named Tom Austin re: riding in extreme heat

This seems to pertain not just to hot weather, but specifically dry heat which I'm guessing is what you'll experience.
