War Story on History Channel

yep. I wish the history channel would focus a bit more on actual history instead of guys driving on ice.

Better not focus on Dieppe. Canada is the only country that celebrates it's defeats more than it's victories.

Actually, vimmy ridge is the battle I've heard more about than anything else. How awesome is it that we are the only country that could take it? THAT act showed "the mother land" that we were ready to be our own country.

And the Germans feared us more than other other part of the allied force, enough that they gave us a nickname... We have lots to be proud of.

I've heard it before that Dieppe was designed to fail.

Really interesting one today on the Korean War, referred to as 'the forgotten war', and I must confess I knew/know very little about Canada's actions. Will have to remedy that.

In their defense i'll like to say its about the soldiers who sacrificed and not about victories :)
