Anyone know about these?
Max bike weight? How strong the wall needs to be?
I want at least two.

Look at this guy go:

For dirtbikes you'd be fine...streetbikes that's another story.

Yes I'm wondering what the max load could be for a unit like that.

Would be good for stuff like lawnmowers and snowblower too

I would go with a floor mounted post taking the main weight and two wall mount arms to keep it from tipping or twisting. You can calculate the pull on the wall brackets based on foot pound calculations derived from the centreline of the bike 's masses and the distance from the post etc.

I would also use a double cable / chain system to keep things in alignment. Did you keep any of your old stretched chains and slightly worn sprockets?

Give the lift mechanism some engineering thought. Steel is incredibly strong but you see home built utility trailers used for grass clippings and the things are made of 2" X 4" steel tube with a 1/4" wall.

I Looked at some ideas online and there are a few "professional" grade ones out there. I don't have $2000 sitting around for one and my tinkering mind always wants to find a way to build it myself.

However, as much as it would be useful, I never really sat down to draw it up or even get into the preliminary stages.
I even thought of modifying an old/used 2-post car hoist and only using one of the posts as that would for sure have enough strength to lift and hold up 500lbs bike.

As much as they are a space saver, you also do need to have the space to install and allow them to operate. With my current warehouse worth of stuff in my garage, it would be hard to do that.

EDIT:
I really like this idea.
Seems simple enough to make even with no detailed instructions or view of all components from different angles.

Elevators aside, I think 99% of us would kill for a shop the size and layout of the ones in the videos.
