Wait for Motorcycle Show to buy gear OR buy online clearance?

I have already made a purchase online for a Teknic race suit. I know I am going to the show in December and had been told there are some pretty good deals on gear. However, I am not sure if those items are really as good as the clearance sale online. Or perhaps the clearance stuff are on some no name or low end stuff and not much on the high end RS Taichi, Dainese and Alpinestars??

Specifically, there is a close out deal on an Alpinestars GP Pro glove for about $140 with shipping online. Is this a good deal?

Check out online prices then go to december and January show. Buy it there if it is cheaper, if not then go home and buy it. Just make sure u know the prices prior to going to the show.

There are some great prices on high end gear right now. While the shows may have even better prices, the selection will only decrease or disappear by that time. How important is potential extra savings versus gear selection?

I recently bought the top of the line dainese rebel leather jacket for about 50% off. They are sold out now across north america except for a few sizes. I also got the teknic violator jacket at over 60% off. It is almost totally sold out now too.

Check the dealer/vendor forum here for some really great deals, and on line as you mentioned.

I bought my dainese leather jacket at the show last year... It was cheaper than buying online (I had my iPhone with me and was cross checking prices with revzilla and STG).
I also almost bought a 1 piece astars race suit...again cheaper than online but it didnt fit me quite as I would have liked so I passed on it.

i am waiting for the motorcycle show, see what they have first, usually they have good deals...

Just bought a mint 2 piece Joe Rocket suit from my buddy for $180!! We are the same size so I couldn't pass it up.
Also waiting for this show as I will be buying helmet, gloves and boots. And these are all the things that I have to try on that's why I'm steering away from buying gear online.....just simply can't fit test it.

The december show has good deals on gear? I've heard that the december show is more for the manufacturers with very little gear being sold, and the shows to go to are the January and March shows. Very curious now, as I'm looking for a new helmet and did not want to buy until I checked the shows out

I've heard the same thing. I've never been so gonna check both this year

I was so disapointed with the shows last year that i`m not even going this year. Not one deal better than i could get online or in store. And if i want to see/ sit on a bike i`m interested in, i`ll go to the dealer for that to. The bike shows, IMO, are over hyped and a waste of time and money.

I went to a show for the first time back in March I think... the one on airport rd. I wasn't too impressed overall but I did got an ok deal on a helmet and faceshield. I might try out a 1pc this year if I end up going. If nothing else, it's just nice to be around bikes and browse just not sure it's worth the admission if I come out empty handed.

I've been to a bunch of shows and honestly the deals never really struck me as being that good. I've never purchased anything at the shows for that reason.

with all the money the vendors have to pay for a booth and hauling their *** there. i wouldn't be surprised why they aren't willing to offer great deals.

makes you wonder who is making money.

The only thing i found to be an actual deal at the shows are the bikes. Unless you like cheap garbage gloves/boots/jackets.
