Vololights - New Kickstarter project for motorcycles

Though I think it is a very good idea, the video clearly shows how difficult it is to see the attached LED lighting, with this in mind for this idea to truley take off date will be required to show a lesser occurance of rear end collisions with this product versus without.
 
Hmm im on the fence. If a driver isnt paying attention already, he/she isnt going to notice 2 additional blinking lights.
 
Interesting.... Like the concept, but I think as stated above, if people are distracted it won't help you out too much. This is something I could see using a Arduino and some parts.. Fun to try.
 
I'm all for anything reasonable that potentially reduces the risk of collisions for motorcyclists. I like this idea a lot, I just wish it had brighter lights on it. They don't look too bright to me, at least in the video.

Thats true if a driver isnt paying attention, the 2 lights wont do anything BUT if you can catch someone who's somewhat zoning out on the highway and the traffic abruptly grinds to a halt, it could potentially snap that driver out of zombie mode. If it can work even once, then its served its purpose.

Basically, cant hurt to have one imo.
 
I like to concept but for me I would like to see the control unit integrated to something internal so I can use my standard breaking light. Should be simple enough to do. TBH this is something that manufactures should be integrating into their motorcycles.
 
I appreciate the concept but if I'm really looking to avoid a rear end collision when I downshift or decelerate then I can easily press down on my rear brake to light up my tail light.
Also, this would be a nightmare when riding in a big group. I can just see lights flashing everywhere and becoming more distracting.

Also.. the video failed to show what I think is the most important angle - what other drivers see.

Watched a bit at work, without audio. Are these blinking lights on all the time or only when you break? My friend has something like this on his Valkrie, when he hits the rear break, it sends out a flashing break light rather then a solid. Again, maybe I am missing something with not hearing the audio, but seems like this is something thats already out there.
