There are lots of nice Gravel roads and double track, and the Trail maps are very well color coded, when you guys get there, you can buy the Trail maps at the campsites or at the Valois Motel/restaurant. -
Valois Motel & Restaurant - Mattawa Accommodations
We stayed at a place called Lazy Rock, it was decent, very clean showers and facility, great hosts and accommodating. However, the hwy is right next to the sites, so got a bit noisy. Most other riders stayed at the Valois and recommenced it, after a day on trails and rain, they looked a lot more comfortable, so worth checking out price wise.
Depending on weather, there can be a lot of mud, and soft sand. Sand is my enemy, and we got plenty, we turned around on one gravel road cause of a mudhole and not wanting to drown either bikes. I didn't end up doing many of the VMUTs trails cause of the mud/sand, and some just looking too technical for me. I did end up doing a lot of side roads, back roads, and scenic rides instead. Quebec being next door, has an awesome, esp near Kipawa, I took the chemin du cimenterie road, and it goes on and on, also came across a motorcross section there.
