visor advice?

entirely depends on the helmet -- my RF-1100 takes about 10 seconds. The bigger issue is carrying the extra visor some of the time, although for me, 99% of the time I have my tailbag with me so it's a non-issue.

Some helmets have a built-in tinted visor, with a little slider on the top of the helmet, so you can adjust it pretty easily while riding.

Or you can buy a bell helmet and get a visor that works like transition lenses. It gets darker the sunnier it is and goes clear when there is little or no sunlight. I think that bell is the only company that has this on the market. I may be mistaken

Which helmet do you have? These days most are pretty quick and easy to swap out while some are slightly more involved. Oh and Transitions FTW!

How easy would it be to switch out the tinted visor on my helmet if I buy one? looks fussy

I've got a clear and a smoke visor that I change back and forth between a few times a week. It seems scary and a PITA at first, but after half a dozen switches you get used to it and realize you're really not going to break anything. Also the visors wear down a bit in their tight spots so they come on/off easier.

Also, with what Slick Steveo said, it's ridiculous that more companies don't do those transition style visors. I remember commericals for those when I was still in public school, and I've had a $60 pair of cycling glasses for a few years that do that, so it's not expensive to make them. Maybe it's a patent thing?

Thanks! I haven't bought one yet, am trying to do all my homework before I buy. Definitely will be a Shoei or Arai though. Trying to decide what is important

Thanks, I think that's my worry I don't want to scratch or break it, good to know

Yes, fit is most important. I was all ready to buy a scorpion helmet... until I tried some on and found out they are completely the wrong shape for my head. Shoei fit fine though, so I got one of them. Fit is the most important thing when choosing a helmet.
