Vibrating Noise near front after windscreen swap

I replaced the stock windscreen on my Ninja 250 with a $20 eBay smoked out double bubble version. It fit fine, but now at certain RPM I'm hearing an annoying vibrating noise coming from somewhere in the front. I don't know how to isolate it because it only happens when I ride of course. It's like a weed whacker noise.

Anyone else experience anything like this or have suggestions on how to eliminate it?

Very common and most aftermarket screens arte thinner than OEM and leave room for plastic on plastic vibes. Go to hardware store and get some thin foam rubber door and window weatherstripping. apply it to the edge of the windscreen, then re-install it. Vibes will be gone.

When you say edge do you mean both sides? Or one side? I'm assuming id install it on the external edge of the windscreen?

yup.....top of windscreen, at the edge so you can't see it when it's installed. It will form a soft barrier between the upper fairing and the screen once you tighten the screws holding screen in place.

I didn't replace anything and I'm not sure what well nuts are. I popped the rubber threaded nuts out and put them in the new windscreen and in the lower bolt holes there was a nut behind inside the bike so it just stayed there.

here are a few pics. I think the noise is coming from the very front pointy part:

Wedge some paper or thin cardboard between the front of the screen and the bodywork and see if the noise goes away. If it does, then the weatherstrip idea will be a permanent fix. If not, put the stock screen back on and see if that cures it. If not, then something else is making the noise coincidental with the screen change (or you left hardware or tools in there). Good excuse to go for a ride.

I swapped out the windscreen and put in the stock one, vibration noise is gone. Damn it! I really liked the black one I bought.

Those rubber nuts are the well nuts.

Could just be a simple fitment issue. Have a look for rough edges or imperfections where the mold was injected. Might just need to smooth or sand something down for a more snug fit.
