Vespa Buying Question

I know this is not exactly a motorcycle question; but the Vespa/scooter forums for Toronto seem to be dead...

I'm considering a purchase of a Vespa LX150 for the wife. (I've got a motorcycle)...

Where's the best place to buy a scooter? I've been quoted $3995 plus taxes for a 2011 model.

Your input would be appreciated.

I've looked at Kijiji, the price differential for the newer Vespa's seem to be close. Plus most ads are from Motoretta of GP Bikes.

Does it have to be a Vespa? Does your wife want one for the brand? A good used Yamaha Vino 125 can be had for less than half that price.

Go see Apex Cycle in Waterloo. Lots of brand new Vespas collecting dust in that place. They are trying to purge the last of the scooter inventory.

They are open, but are in the midst of a huge reno.Tripling their space.

Yes, thanks for that. Was there yesterday. Will look nice when it is complete.
Just as a sideline, first time I have seen an unmarked OPP in the left hand break down lane just before the turn off to Kitchner.
Radar in hand.Clocking everybody.

There's no Vespa dealers in Toronto? I've only left Toronto couple years ago and there used to be at least 3 Vespa dealers. Why does it have to be a Vespa? Just because it's a name brand? How's their supply network any better these days for warranty repairs? If your wife wants an option look at Studio Cycle on Dundas St for Kymco's. 2 year warranty can't beat that and great service.

Did BMW Toronto stop selling them too? I can't remember if they stopped selling just Aprillia, or all Piaggio bikes.

They are done too. BMW....Piaggio....competition to each other. They made their decision to dump Piaggio products and the customer base that Motoretta had.
