Vented jackets

Hey everyone. I'm looking for a good vented jacket for the summer, any suggestions? I really like the look of the scorpion eternity jacket, and have read good reviews... Anybody have first hand experience with this one? which other ones should I check out?

For reallly hot summer weather days , I use my Icon Arc Mesh jacket. Excellent ventellation (Mesh). Reasonble level of safety. (CE approved elbow and shoulder pads, large dual layer back protector, Leather along arms and sleves). Cost was also reasonable (approx. $230). The jacket fits nice and tight so when I'm riding on the highway it doesn't move around too much.

That jacket is good for temps above 21 cel. Anything cooler than that I use my leather jacket.

Rev'IT Air or Air Tarmac, MSRP $200USD, some stores sell it for $350CDN here (rip-off).

Great even for really hot summer days.

Very happy with my JR Mesh - good armour but very cool for riding.

Liner for cold days. ( best buy I've made. $60 and warm and comfy down to 10 degrees yet very light )
Overjacket for wet days.
Both for wet and cold :D
The mesh keeps a good air pocket so the combo is good down to 4 degrees or so.

Gave up on anything else- the layering works too well and I like the mesh as it is not constricting at all even tho well armored.

Check out Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket. It has panels that you can put back on at night and be comfortable even when it gets colder. If you have some room on bike to carry them that is great jacket.

If you don't want to compromise on safety, check out BMW's Airflow 4 jacket and pants. Material (Dynatec) is top notch (as far as meshes go) and doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. Well made product. But, the only downside is the price. :(

In my experience, the opinion of another rider is a poor guide to a comfortable jacket. If a jacket is not comfortable, I am not going to wear it. I suggest you hand your helmet or keys to someone in the store and explain that you are going to try on jackets, and probably walk around the store in your favourite one for ten minutes, including some time sitting on bikes, and then perhaps buy it. I think that an uncomfortable jacket will reveal its problems in ten minutes.

I was lucky. A friend got a terrific deal on a jacket that was OK at first, but proved to be too tight when he actually rode in it. I tried it and liked it, so it is now mine. In exchange I gave him a very fine jacket that was warm and comfortable but my second favourite. We are both happy and comfortable now.

So keep trying on jackets until you find one that you really do not want to take off.
What works for someone else is not likely to be perfect for you; you have to find it yourself.
