Velocity shorty gloves.... awesome!

A few weeks ago, I bought a pair of shorty leather gloves from Velocity Sports Gear. The fit and finish of the gloves is exceptional (for my hands, anyway.) The leather seems to be top quality and the stitching is on the outside of the fingers so there are no pressure points from seams - a big plus when wearing tight gloves. The leather on the palms is also "grippy" and doesn't require a tight grasp of the handgrips on the bike to maintain control. These gloves are not the VR-Pro gloves shown on their website, but very similar - I think they are the "GP-Street" model short gloves.

Went out for a 3 hour ride yesterday in the 30C heat and my hands were perfectly comfortable the entire time. There is ventilation fabric between the fingers that works well if you spread your fingers apart a little. My hands did sweat a wee bit, and there was a slight amount of colour transfer from the leather to my palms, but not bad. Thankfully, I have not crash tested these gloves yet, so I can't give an opinion on the effectiveness of the armour or padding (although it looks and feels pretty substantial.)

The owner of the business was very pleasant to deal with as well. If you are looking for new gloves, you should give these a try.

I agree as I have also purchased a few pairs of those (2 pairs as gifts) and they should do the job well and only on the hottest day do I not want to put them on....
(for leathers I think they ventilate quite well already)

I also have a leather Jacket from Jimmy and the Kevlar Jeans.

Haven't crash tested and don't plan to, but at least all 3 pieces makes me "feel" safer anyways.
