Is there a used motorcycle price list that I can use to find out what the market value of a bike is?

You could try www.nadaguides.com to get a rough idea of what bikes are worth....
American pricing for nadaguides.com?
Be wary of quotes from "black books" or "blue books" as they often quote the price that the bike is worth to trade in. Big difference between what a bike is worth to trade in and what it is worth on the market if you sell it yourself.
Example. My 96 Virago 1100 with 70k on it is worth about $2,900 according to the black book. I routinely see Vgos going for $4000-$5,500.

Reviving..
I am looking for a cruiser for some time and mostly hitting Kijiji and Trader. Both dealers and private sellers are sort of over pricing on almost all used models. I then checked with Bluebook and found it to be like that. Some seem to be throwing out their prices without checking the real market value or the book value. I came across a seller with over $1100 of the maximum (no mod). When I told him about his high price, he got of the hook and started to blast how he took care of his baby and market value is just a number for tax purposes and etc. He told me that on papers he would put the mid book value but wanted extra from me. I walked away.
I think that Ministry would go with Bluebook to evaluate taxes on the purchased price. I am not sure how to deal with all this. I don't want to pay over the book value. Is this book really a matter?
