Well, she's technically not wrong - the solar panels will shade vegetation directly around them, stunting and/or killing it. I think the town will endure the loss of a few square meters of grass, though.
I wonder if all this "Microwave ovens/cell phones/wifi/solar panels/wind turbines cause cancer!!!" business is a byproduct of the early nuclear age downplaying/ignoring radiation hazards
