Upper Big Chute Loop - closed for construction

Today I drove up to BigChute. I was driving on Upper Big Chute Road /County Road 17, to get back on hwy 400 but ended up to a sign saying the road is closed [almost close to ColdWater] . I wasnt sure whether it was completely closed or not But I made a U turn and rode back to White's Falls Road and then to HWY 400. (just my luck)

If your coming out of Coldwater on 17 keep heading East on what is now Mt. Stephen rd and then turn north on Taylor line. That will bring you back to Upper Big Chute road past the bridge replacement.

This road has been under construction for years now. Hopefully the end is near.

It's been about 5 years since I was last on it and checked it out today. The top half is amazing. I was impressed.

As per Shane’s report, the top half is really good except for the low speed limit.

Bottom half is OK but unfortunately not close to any other good roads if you are coming from the North.
