Now replace tires, clutch plates, brake pads, and suspension.... just kidding :D but that was pretty good, fun to watch :D definitely not easy to imitate however... and as for people in the GTA, i have yet to meet anyone from this forum, still fairly new myself :)

That rider is good. The advanced rider courses will teach you to lean your bike in to turns similar to this and trust it. We may not get to this level of trust, but the course is good for everyone. Thanks for sharing this vid.

nice!

Wow ... very cool. Those guys look like they're really throwing much bigger bikes around, much tighter cornering too (feet on the ground =[) .

There's American cop versions of the same (youtube 'police bike rodeo')... except they're doing maneuvers I wouldn't have expected a bike so big to be so proficient at... either way amazing to watch.

I know there's autocross in parking lots all over the place that anyone can try for fun... there has to be something similar for bikes (!?!?). I do realize what Armen444 is saying about having to upgrade parts... took my old '85 911 out to an autocross a couple of times... certainly puts a beating on machines that aren't used to that kind of workout.

Still! I think it would be a fun alternative to high speed track days. Of course I'm just guessing, never done that either. =]

No.. I have looked myself. What I was planning on doing was buying a crapload of pylons and doing this myself for fun.

Not to take anything away from the guy. Obviously talented but those bars aren't stock and I'm pretty sure those tires are made out of an advanced form of crazy glue.

I know there is a place in GTA that does this. not sure where exactly when i took the RTI course in the summer last year, one of the instructors (Yoshi) competed in it

If anything, I've always wanted to start a Gymkhana league...but I don't know how to go abouts doing it.
How 'bout use GTAMers put our minds together and start something wild? =D
I can't imagine a large investment is needed other than course equipment, licensing, and insurance(?- prob where it'll be most expensive) But can this actually make any money? It would probably be more for recreation rather than a viable business.

When I was taking my M1 exit test at the MTO, the guy two before me was on a harley. They had the cones spaced WAY apart, he did them easy. The next guy in front of me was on a supermoto, they pushed the cones super tight, super moto just ripped them. He pulled up beside me after the test, we compared our steering lock to lock, LOL!

Yeah, dude in the vid has some crazy steering setup :)

I think the challenge would be a.) finding a parking lot owned by someone/biz who'd be willing to let it happen and, b.) a dedicated lead to pull it off on a regular basis. Not 100% sure, but i'm pretty sure its not a money maker. At the autocrosses(..es) I've been to, the only obvious issue drivers/organizers had to deal with (that i could see) was not pissing off the patrons of the charity casino at the other end of the lot upon entry/exit of the event. It's doable for sure, but with what mandatory controls I don't know. Perhaps I'll ask some of the guys who organized those events what they had to go through to get an idea of what would be involved in starting something similar up in GTA (previous exp. was in Sarnia/London area). It's been a while though and I've lost touch, worth a shot tho.

Either way, a stack of mini pylons and a parking lot is all that's unofficially req'd!

Anybody want to do this tomorrow at the empty Rona lot in Bowmanville? I ride there aggressively all the time and never have had the police called on me or anything. Have been meaning to get my bike out there with cones on me, the pavement is good, and only a couple of small islands and lighting poles to dodge. I'll probably be there all day anyways. :) Bring cones!! :D

I thought it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow? I wonder how crappy the tires are that came with my bike, Pilot Power 2CT's :(

Just says sporadic rain, was also supposed to rain today, but I didn't see any and I'm only like 30 minutes from Bowmanville up the 115.

A few threads have been started on the topic of Gymkhana riding and the Cop Bike Rodeos. Yoshi, the instructor from RTI is/was a competitive trials rider and gymkhana rider. Myself and a ton of other riders are encouraging him to start a gymkhana school or course + competitions in the GTA. Search for gymkhana threads.

Looked through the Gymkhana stuff, and even started one myself last year, this was the one with most replies/updates about Gymkhana in Ontario, I'm not starting my own league or anything, just saying I'll be out there with my own cones if anyone else wants to come out. :)
