Two riders down, one fatal Hwy 89 outside Alliston

sad. rest in peace, rider.

My god that is horrible. I ride that area all the time. R.i.P and gws to other rider damn way too many of these this year :-(

Police say it appears the two motorcycles were in the process of turning off the highway when they were struck from behind by the vehicle.
They have said it's too early in the investigation to know if charges will be laid.

Seriously?... The driver kills a man and injures another and charges may not be laid?... WoW!

It's mind boggling that the charge this person may get is careless driving , thats what the person who hit me and my husband got charged with eventhough my husband passed away because of the accedent . It kills me

If someone dies it should be upped to vehicular manslaughter...that would make cagers pay more attention.

RIP Rider and GWS survivor.

Too many accidents this season including a person that works with me in Oakville that crashed on Snake rd. He still has not recovered. Hopefully he can return to work.
He rode a red Kawi 750 which was often parked next to my GS500.

[h=1]Motorcycle rider seriously injured in crash[/h]

A 40-year-old Oakville man is in serious condition in Hamilton General Hospital following a motorcycle crash on Snake Road in Burlington.
Halton police said the crash occurred Saturday at 3 p.m. when the northbound motorcycle went out of control on a curve and slid from the northbound lane into the path of an oncoming car in the southbound lane.
Halton police said the motorcycle and rider struck the front left corner of the car.
The rider was taken to Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Hamilton with numerous serious injuries.
Police said the woman driving the car was not injured.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash but police say speed is suspected as a contributing factor.

One and the same. Melvin was a TTU driver out of Gateway, and Brian is a 5-ton driver. I just heard this story from another TTU driver and had to look it up. Apparently the old woman who rear ended them has denied any fault and suggests that it was somehow the rider's fault!

WTF, that's awful...my greatest fear while riding is being rear ended...

according to my source,Melvin is already dead before landing on the ground.
the impact broke his neck instantly. He had 3 kids.
Get well soon to Bryan.

RIP and GWS!!!!
It is crazy the way a lot of drivers completely disregard bikes on the road, I think everyone should be forced to ride a bike...... just a test run in a parking lot when they get their drivers license so drivers who don't ride can really feel how vulnerable riders really are....but that just isn't possible!

Unbelievable! I work at the same plant was informed of the accident yesterday by a non rider; they thought maybe it was me and hadn't seen me in awhile.

It's funny, a person can grab a firearm and shoot it into the street, kill someone, and go to jail while someone in a 3000 pound killing machine can do the same and get off with nothing.

wow this is horrible. shows that you aren't safe even when fully stopped! GWS rider and RIP :(
