Tuff Powdercoating-more great work

Just had another set of wheels done by Alex at Tuff Powdercoating. I prepped the wheels myself and dropped them off to him. Both times the turnaround was super fast and the job was top quality. If you are west of the GTA and need anything powdercoated, he's your guy, give him a call. He's basically halfway between Brantford and Woodstock just off the 403.

My newest ones from my R6 2012 race season bike. I'll get a pic of them mounted and post it up this weekend.

Can I ask what is the approximate cost of powder coating a set of rims ?

I'm sure every application is different, give him a call

I am sure it is,,,,,that is why I asked for an approximate figure.....

you could have even given us what you paid, give or take a few bucks

sometimes some places have a standard fee, some even post it on their web site, was just trying to get a feel if it was worth calling

Thanks anyways, if I find the time I will call....

it took you longer to write these two posts than it would have to call and inquire about pricing.

There are clues nearby that suggest Tuff is sponsoring Kellen to some degree. I generally don't tell people how much I pay for stuff through my sponsors.

There are many variables. Do the rims require blasting? Bearings and seals removed, bearing races and rotor bolt holes masked off already? In my experience, bare minimum for fully prepped wheels in basic colours would be $50/wheel at any shop.

lmao

hey what colour is that blue?

I'm not sure what the code was. He does stock that colour though as well as plenty more

Thanks, and no disrespect, but i will move on, and look elsewhere...

I spend more time online and near a computer than I do near a phone, can't call from work, and by the time I get home, most places are closed

but thanks for wasting your time in replying

If you don't have time to call them during normal business hours how on Earth would you be able to physically get your parts to them during normal business hours? Seems to be a moot point.

what does that have to do with the price of tea in China.....

I can get any one of my drivers to drop them off, I can get a friend to take them, my brother, my sons, the next door neighbour, but I am not going to waste anyone's time, including my own, without having an idea of a price

it really was a simple question, requiring an approximate figure, nothing more

Thanks to all, but I will move on....

I see where you are going with this. Everytime someone asks about prices.. the reply is always "call them and find out..." seems like no one wants to let anyone else in on the "deal" for whatever reason (sponsor, friend, referral discount, etc.).

Here's a question.. What's the average price for getting 2 Moto rims powder coated.. on the bike?

Well yeah, this is called the review forum, not the "THIS IS HOW MUCH I PAID" forum. Anyone who is serious about getting something will call and find out about pricing, time, etc.

anyone who isn't serious asks about it on the internet

I made a thread about the quality of his work and his fast turnaround. That's all.

Looks good, unique colour too.

Wow, lots of bickering though as usual. lol. All of that could have been avoided had the OP just simply stated "They are my sponsor so I don't know how much it cost as they hooked me up" and if Gatekeeper had read the thread more closely Caboose's comment where he said "In my experience, bare minimum for fully prepped wheels in basic colours would be $50/wheel at any shop" it would have gave him a ballpark figure." pretty much answered his question.

i've been quoted between 350 and 400 for plain black from 3 diff places. bring in the bike, they do the work. one emphasized that included bearings and alignment. that would appear to be the going rate for the little guy.
