Trucker runs biker off the road

Bike was traveling significantly faster than traffic and went far left too far right to pass the truck on the right. Pretty easy for the truck to have missed seeing the bike. One second clear next second a bike passing on the right.
I don’t usually side with a trucker but this bike looks to have had it coming.
from what I can see watching twice.

I mean, technically the trucker is in the wrong (it's hard to tell if he even signals), but boy, talk about putting yourself into a bad spot and asking for trouble as a rider. You can see that lane change from the truck coming from miles away (especially with traffic slowing - people always jump lanes looking for that extra car/truck-length), why put yourself beside him without establishing yourself in the lane first, let alone charging in there way faster than the flow of traffic? Lucky for the rider that the shoulder is plenty wide to allow for some indignantly self-righteous beeping...

Need better video quality to see how long the truck's right signal was on before the bike caught up to him.

Edit: Is that the speedo/odo on the right that seems disabled?

Second edit: Just looks like it doesn't move much.

You can force the video to 1080p/60 for clearer viewing. Passing on the right is always a risky proposition. You pretty much have to expect this to happen, especially after a double lane change at speed. The only warning from the truck is the brakes as the rider is about to pass it. Then the signal doesn't come on until it's actually changing lanes into the rider.

I’m with the trucker on this one. One second the mirrors show the right lane clear, next second there’s a bike passing on the right.
When riding a bike, always right defensively and always ride predictably. The riders actions were neither of those things.
The rider was lucky they were able to flip off the trucker at the end of that situation….

Yeah, it's a brake light I saw. Weird part is that if the biker had stayed in lane 2, it seemed completely clear for an overtake.
I wonder how fast they are.

Too be honest I never really understood why passing on the right was bad. If the lane is free and you can pass safely then you should. But after seeing this and some comments it makes more sense why not to do it. (y)

Faster lanes to the left with the faster traffic in them. Slower traffic on the right allowing for merging traffic. Easy peasy.

Sometime it is hard to have a clear view of the license plate on the back of the trailer. Second best would be take note of the trailer number and if possible the company name.

What for?

Watch on YouTube in HD. The trucker got on the brakes and changed lanes quickly like without signaling as if he is making a emergency maneuver (trying not to slam in the back of the dark SUV ahead when traffic was slowing down. The trucker probably had no idea a motorcycle was behind him or in the right lane (off ramp ?) To me the biker was not moving that much faster than the passing lane.
About passing on the right - if you can't pass on the left are you going to following the tractor trailer in the middle lane or you gonna pass on the right.

A quick google search. 2007
Passing to right of vehicle - 150.
(1) The driver of a motor vehicle may overtake and pass to the right of another vehicle only where the movement can be made in safety and,

Anyways it doesn't really matter if your right or wrong on motorcycle because your on a bike and your gonna get hurt either way.
The highways are ruled by SUVs and tractor trailers!

Trailer #. the police can track down the trailer, match the cab, and match the driver.

Isn't it possible that the truck driver saw the motorcycle's headlight coming up fast on the left and, as a courtesy, attempted to quickly move to the right to allow the bike to pass. The video doesn't show what traffic situation that the truck driver was evaluating as he brakes and moves right. The motorcycle appears (to me) to have a huge speed differential between itself and the surrounding cars. The truck driver can't be blamed in this case; manoeuvring these big rigs insight traffic situations like this is really difficult. The motorcyclist should have also evaluated the changing traffic situation and adapted IMO.

A million years ago when I was young and stupid I got a ticket for 'passing on the right, not in safety'.
The cop was being a dick so I went to court - I lost.
Better that than being squashed, lesson learned.

Turn signals are supposed to be used BEFORE turning, not while. The purpose is to warn others of your intention, which is pointless once you've already started moving into another lane. Not saying the rider wasn't speeding, but that "professional" driver should know better and isn't completely innocent either.
