Triple Tree Stand Help!!

Hey everyone, I recently just got my venom triple tree stand that I got from kapscomoto. after installing everything I go out to hook it up onto my bikes triple tree and ive found a problem. The bolt doesnt fully slide into the triple tree, I took the blt out and it fits like a glove inside the triple tree but when hooked up to the stand, it only slide about less than 1/4" inch. secondly the part that swings hits my bikes air inlet in the front. I found other pics of other people with the same bike and they didnt have to remove antything from their bike to hook it up. I really want to start taking the tires off so I can have my new dunlops installed as well as so I can fix a leak from the forks

in the photo its appears to be going in at an angle which may be why it only goes a 1/4" before stopping, it may be binding in the hole. Any way to adjust the pitch and see if that helps?

So it appears to be both hitting the fender and not allowing the pin in due to binding, I'd take an inch off the pin so see it what would let things line up.

Jayv: The pin is the right size. I took the pin out and it slides inside the triple tree hole perfectly

crankcall: Sorry im not too sure I really understand when you say adjust the pitch :P but i seems I cant do much in terms of adjusting. it seems that the angle is too much but I cant really compare it to anything else. I can take more pictures if you need me too. I really want to start working on the bike :P

mikbusa: Ill give that a try.

I really Question the Venom front stands. I have the attachments to raise the bike by hooking up to the forks and it keeps sliding off and the fork holder attachment just keeps spinning

Hmmm...
Is the stand fully extended ? open ? if not it would make sense that it's bumping the fairing.

Also is the stand not centered ?(it looks like it isn't in the picture)

Some times when I put my front stand on I need to give it a little wiggle to get the pin in properly.

if you could post a picture of your whole set up there it could be very helpful

Don't cut the pin ! Lift the stand up off the ground and wiggle the pin in first then extend the stand to the ground and now you will see the angle will not rub the intake.
You are probably extending the stand from the ground up to the triple and this is wrong

+1 to the comment above. Insert the pin fully first, wiggle it in while sliding the wheels to the proper position, and then extend the stand. Theres too much pressure on the pin to slide in easily.

Yup...On my Fireblade the same thing happens if you don't wiggle it to make sure it's all the way in.....wiggle that baby like it's yer....well you know. Spit on it if you gotta...LMAO

yea, dont gring anything....everything is fine in terms of the pin and stand...the two issues come from the fact that the top part of the stand is not angled properly.

If you can visualize it you will realize that if the pin is in properly, the stand arm wont be hitting the bottom of the headlight fairing.

I had the same issue when i first got my TT stand for the SV650. Just gotta insert the pin in first THEN crank the lower stand down into position....

Is the bike a zzr600/zx6?

My ZX9 always used to touch a little before being fully hoisted off the ground.

Thanks everyone for the advise. Turns out you do have to set it in place than keep wiggling and reaming the pin in until it slides in. alot of swear words and frozen hands during the process but I was able to make it stand securely. Only downside is that during the process of reaming the pin in the hole, the supports for the triple tree started to hit the front wheel fairing causing small scratches. hopefully some polishing compound and elbow grease can fix it up. Not a good way to start on working my (new to me ) bike. just wrapped some bubble wrap all over the triple tree to prevent it from happening again. Thanks again guys

This is why I said to cut the pin, your photo showed that the fender was already making contact.
