I finally got around to taking the Vstrom for its valve check.
The maintenance schedule for valve checks is at 24000km, and I am at 48000... so I guess I killed two checks with one inspection.
Anyway, after checking the GTA, everyone quoted $500+ to do this check, so I was pretty close to settling in and doing it myself.
Then I heard about Tri-City Cycle from riders on Stromtrooper, so I emailed Randy and got a quote of $300 for a valve check, throttle body sync, rad flush, and plug change (with iridium plugs)... and they delivered. All that was done for $306 out the door.
My valves are within spec, and everything is good. It wasn't really out of the way for me as I needed to head towards Kitchener for a couple days anyway so pulling the bike there on the trailer was not an issue.
