Trailtour.com - ride report

Been riding road bikes for 4 years now and been looking to get into dirt well lets be honest, since i was 12. Had the chance to check out trailtour.com, located an hour east of Toronto
and absolutely killer weekday rates (think weekend is roughly 50 dollars more) at 209 dollars all in, gear/lunch included and another 25 dollars for bike insurance i felt it was great value.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. Bike most people start off on is a crf 230 but they have both smaller for shorter or inexperienced riders and up to a 450 altho on a group ride there was absolutely no need for anything bigger then the 230. After hearing from multiple instructors about how much more aggressive the power delivery is on a race oriented 250 (what they were riding) i was very glad to have started on the 230. The forgiving and linear nature of the power delivery is like you could do no wrong, perfect for someone getting into dirt. All of the instructors were fantastic, knowledgeable and super friendly people. They have everything from wide open trails to super technical stuff, and we weren't even on their most technical trails.

Would recommend this to anyone who rides! I have no doubt that picking up some dirt skills is going to make me more confident at the limits of my road bike.

For someone just learning dirt, or even an experienced rider bringing their own bike this place is wonderful and i had a blast! They also do organized rides all over ontario but you'd have to contact them for specific details Any questions about the experience feel free to ask!

Saving my pennies for a 250 and gear as we speak

From your experiences, can you suggest other good dirt bike training facilities - west or north of T.O?

For a new rider. Doesn't have the M1.

+1 for Trail Tours. I went a couple of years ago with a group of friends and we all had a blast. If my wife ever decides to ride (she's starting to think about it) I'll be taking her there for a day prior to taking the CMA course.

Old thread... just wanna say my friends and I had a blast today at trailtour! For most of us it was our first time on dirt. The staff was super friendly. Aaron and Blaine were fantastic as instructor/guide! We got to ride a nice variety of trails from wide to single tracks and were blessed with excellent conditions. I'll definitely be going back. Big thanks and kudos to these guys!

I was there on Saturday, in Dale's group... Good place to visit and lots of fun!
