Does anyone rent trailers with chocks?
Gta

Or does anyone want to?

Or would a home depot van be safe without chock?

Any suggestions?

I have a regular trailer but no chocks and it's not directly mine. Don't want to buy a chock and then have to remove it etc

Id hire toy hauler but seller can only meet me once
cant do deposit and efficiently get back.
So if I like it id like to take it on the spot

You can rent a Home Depot van only if you purchase something from them and need the van to transport whatever you purchased.

They don't rent for anything else.

There are motorcycle specific trailers for rent for the price of a case or three of beer IIRC. Some come with straps etc. If you knew how to tie any bike down to any trailer you wouldn't be asking the question.

I think you can rent from Lowes without a purchase. Not sure. I think the story is that you need the van to clear out the junk to make room for the stuff your going to buy...over time.

I rented a van from Discount. Drove it to Rochester, drove my bike back from Rochester fully tied down, but without a choke - bike didn't move a bit.

Uhaul rents trailers for $30 per day with a built in ramp

If you're in a bind, I'm in east york as well and can loan you my trailer for beer.

You can buy a $7 sheet of OSB and then rent the van, but you need to pay for KM's and time for the van rental. I believe the first 90 minutes are free and then you start to pay for ever 15 min after that.

They are not that stupid any more. Last time they wouldn't allow me to take the HD van with just two 2x4s.

Like some mentioned above me, U-HAUL is a good place to rent a van or a trailer, I rented from them a few times, prices were cheap and vehicles were available.

But are they safe? My personal experience...**** NO! I would rather use a horse and buggy than rent from this company. Just my $0.02.

My experience and the stories in this article are a bit dated but having a vehicle with zero brakes (Pulled off the road by MTO) kind of stays with you a while.

alright **** it then.

Ill just tie down and carry on.

I have never moved a bike without chocks, and i just assumed that it wasnt advisable. I could just picture it toppling over.

Google on how to tie down the bike properly. You can also buy Canyon Dancer strap for the front, which I'd personally highly recommend.

u haul rents motorcycle trailers that have a ramp and choke built into it...

cheap and effective, thats how i brought my bike back...

Curious as to how the MTO determines you have no brakes and to pull you off the road.

Now when you say zero brakes, I'm guessing that means you were using the hand brake or driving into other people? Zero or no brakes is not a substitute description for a vehicle with very little brakes..

Fair question. I didn't want to post a long story, I'll keep it brief. OPP was doing a heavy blitz at the time and they were putting heavy pressure on Uhaul trucks. OPP had us go to an MTO station and inspector did a bloody thorough investigation on the trucks being yanked. They found our truck was basically metal on metal with no pad left. The MTO would not let the vehicle back on the road without it meeting safety.

We never should have left the lot with that truck, don't know why we did.

Here's a story I found around the time it happened. I don't know if Uhual has cleaned up or not.

Well, I've rented from them a few times (a van, a cube van and trailers) and never had any major problems, trailers were in decent shape, van was in excellent shape, it was brand new. Cube van was a piece of **** though, very old and falling apart but still functional. :)

Personally I would rent from them again, but next time I would refuse a vehicle that looked in bad shape.
