Traffic lights' sensors

Does your bike activate the traffic lights? I find myself waiting for a car or making a right and pulling a u-turn.

Any tricks to activate them? I've tried breaking hard on the sensors, position my bike diagonally, but nothing seems to work.

Unfortunately, this isn't going to get better unless you flood the city (cities) with reports of each and every intersection that failed to sense your motorcycle. I have complained to the various regional municipalities and MTO without luck. It's clearly a flawed system.

While it may work to position your bike on the 3 dots (which are really meant for bicycles) or to center your bike on the grooves of the detection loop, it should not be necessary to do anything special to get the light to change.

I always drag the centre stand over the pavements cuts. Obviously, most bikes don't have centre stands so this doesn't help most people.

If you travel the same route a lot you can learn where the sensors are and where to stop the bike to activate them.

Ive put my sidestand down on the tar strip and it worked. Could have been coincidence I haven't tried it enough times

I've also just gone through many more times.. Usually when its an issue you're in the middle of nowhere so who cares

I would strongly advise against playing with your stands while at an intersection, could be more trouble than it's worth.

That's why I use centre stand, not side stand. There is no way for it to actually deploy and crash me in the next corner.
