Track Bodywork Misalignment

Bought a used KTM RC8 Trackbike this past fall, and have just gotten around to refitting the bodywork etc.
When I went for a test ride, I noticed the front of the tail (goes to side of tank on either side like a big "U") wasn't attached correctly, and didn't think anything of it at the time. I just figured the bolts were out and needed to be replaced.

So, I fit the tail properly, zip tied the front sides, put some more zip ties in for extra support on the subframe at the tail. Went to mount the seat, and egads - it fits like crap.
Bolted in the seat pan, that part fits like a charm, put in the rear bolts, went it well enough, but the resulting gaps are totally messed up.

I'm at a loss as to how to get this to fit - the front bolts of the tail fit perfectly, the seat pan fits mounting points perfectly as well, it appears as though the tail is sitting on the back of the sub frame properly as well.

Suggestions on how to fix, anyone?

What the heck is that seat made from??

It's a floor mat. It's a stiff rubber. If it doesn't work after first test, well, then I'll replace it with a seat foam.

As for the misalignment, I think I've got it sorted out. Needed to drill a couple new holes, and start at the back mounting point and work my way to the front, finishing with the zip ties on the right side.

Interesting idea.

As for the bodywork, it's really hard to tell from the pics but with your discription, is there really no better way to attach the bodywork then using zip ties? Usually that's a last resort or a quick trackside repair. I can't imagine a company expecting you to zip tie their bodywork to the bike.

The subframe was tweaked when the bike was originally salvage branded. The previous owner cut and welded it back together, and it appears as though one of the sides isn't the correct length any more. I firmly believe this is the problem with getting the bodywork to fit.
