TPS tackle rider.

Rider will get himself a big payday, all the while the city will cry about how poor it is. Why are the oink oinks never held personally responsible for stunts like this?

If only they had that much manpower and were that enthusiastic about stopping real crimes like the 400+ shootings a year in the city.

WOW.
That camera fell at just the right angle.

Did this happen recently?
Strange way to deal with the situation even if the bike was stolen.
Apparently this summer. Rider just got his bike and video back after two months. I will say, that story seems suspicious. If the bike wasn't stolen, why would it get seized? If the cops had the camera, I would be absolutely shocked if the memory card didn't get "lost" while in their possession.

LOL they gave him a ticket for not leaving the Police Station when ‘ordered’ to do so. What a joke.

Not surprising. From this side of the story, it seems like retribution. Apparently one of the cops had an interaction with this rider before. As long as they don't hurt him enough to get a serious injury, they don't need to worry about SIU. Internal discipline has a very thick blue line and they aren't concerned about it. Hell, they may get promoted for sticking it to a rider that challenged them.

If they did this to me in the summer with full gear on I don't know if I would survive? I think it would be a similar situation like in the states where I would not be able to breathe. Not to mention being startled and in shock. Crazy they would take this approach. I would be looking for millions! And the Toronto public should be very concerned about this.

It's an Insta360 with automatic horizon levelling. They're very convenient for motorcycle stuff. Doesn't matter where it's pointed or if it's level; you can just hit record and grab the angle/shot you want out of the editing software later.

Cops could of simply hit the kill switch instead of tackling him....

Yup.
Or even grab and hold onto the key while talking to him.

Stuff like this just encourages other riders to gun it whenever cops are around. I doubt those two cops were fellow riders - if they were, they may have been more considerate about not causing damage to the bike.

Reminds me of another story: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/motorcycle-police-video-1.5794427

The worst part is the time, money and effort spent trying to undo all that damage : /

Is this part of police training? Throw a person off their bike!

Really feels like there is context missing here.

I've seen a video of a cop wrestling with a guy who's gone wide open throttle trying to escape.
My question then was why didn't he push the bike over. This must be why.
I'd like some further background.
