5:30pm Cage, driving on eglinton westbound just before wynford.

Cherrys come on. I stop, not a ****ing clue why im being stopped.

Cop takes the documents, says nothing.

Cop comes back and gives me a ticket for driving in the bus lane.

I live on ****ing wynford, proof is on the license.

I try to explain that to the officer, he says your only allowed to drive 45 meters in the bus lane to make your exit.

Maybe im 55-70 meters from wynford, if that.

So i proceed to explain the logic of not waiting until the last minute during rush hour traffic to JUMP in to the bus lane and try and make my exit. Probably causing more traffic than the sound logic of merging when safe, and making my exit smoothly.

is there no common sense any more??

Like wtf. This guy was cold as ice for ****s sake. I felt like I was being talked to like a murderer, or a rapist or something.

My record is spick and ****in span, its ****ing christmas, is there no such thing as common decency or discretion anymore!??!?!?!!

So ****ing angry.

Oh wait, i cant mail or phone in the ticket, because its all a scam to make lazy people pay. So i have to take time off work, which id rather than giving the gummimint that $80 and fight a ****ing bylaw ticket. Which will probably get reduced to $30 and im still technically in the hole $80-100 from missing work.

Good work guys, way to treat good, law abiding citizens.

Dont get me started on the budget **** that is going on...oh think of the children, i mean the coffers that will suffer from the lack of officers doing revenue collection.

ok, now i feel better.

good morning!

If people use the bus lanes willy nilly like you do, it could potentially affect a bus from picking up Rob Ford's football team. Think of the children.

oh yes...the children!

it was hardly willy nilly. a couple meters past legal...am i supposed to bust out the tape measure before I make my lane change, to be sure I am within 45 meters?

i though the law said like half a KM though...not 45m.

just doing some math...if i actually hit that HOV lane with 45 meters to the exit. I would have 2.5 seconds to complete my action LOL!

how the **** is that safe, specially during rush hour! and in a cage...LOL.

So you're mad because you got caught breaking the rules?

how is anyone to judge 45 meters?

i checked google maps, it looks like i am real close to that.

and hell ya, wouldnt you be mad if you got a bull **** ticket for that?
its like getting a ticket for 10 over, when that is the speed traffic was flowing.

Just fight it........

You can see plenty of crazy people driving dangerously everyday, reckless taxis, idiots racing thru crosswalks with pedestrians, taxis, ebikes breaking all the rules, and taxis, did i mention taxis? :D
The cops in Toronto have their priorities so out of whack, they focus on nonsense like this instead of the real bad drivers or god forbid, dangerous criminals!!!
It's a total joke, and a pathetic example of a police force, now they want more money again this year.
Give Bill a raise for being such a failure as a chief, that's the Ontario way.

Toronto is overpoliced. Just look at how many cops respond to calls on the news. Don't tell me it really takes 50 cops to respond to a family dispute call.

But they're keeping us safe ;)

Djbordie if you think thats bad try getting a 105km/h in a 100 zone hahaha

Anyways cops are smart enough to follow basic orders and not **** their pants in public, but dumb enough that they don't actually use their brain for anything else. This is the way the system was designed and this is the way it is.

That's kind of funny. When my bike got stolen in 07 there were no cops around for hours, but walking back to my office I saw 2-3 cop cars in timmies parking lots. There are a lot of them, just not doing what they were hired to do.

Earlier this year there was a man who barricaded himself inside his home with a knife. No hostages or guns. ETF responded and there were dozens of cops surrounding the house. It was a ridiculously heavy-handed response.

^ ah yes, that was near my workplace.

"The suspect barricaded himself inside the house for more than 13 hours before bolting the scene by jumping through a second-floor window into the backyard. He was captured by police about an hour later."

"
Portable toilets have been brought in for the tactical officers who are expected to remain there throughout the night."

Best of all "
They fired several canisters of tear gas into the home and fired several rubber bullets at the man before one officer shouted that the suspect had jumped out the window.
Additional officers and the force's Canine Unit were called in for the subsequent search. One officer was bitten by a police dog during the chaos."

Bit by their own dog!! priceless!

That's how you spend 19 million more than the current budget.
Make everything look 100x more serious than it is and use all possible resources as often as you can.

Would've made a great Flashpoint episode.

Did the officer say what your distance was from the exit (Wynford)? How did the officer determine the distance at which you entered the lane? Do you know if it was a blitz or a random stop (others pulled over after, before)? Is the actual distance marked on the ticket anywhere?

Sounds like it should be an easy one to fight. Request disclosure 6-8 weeks prior to trial.
