Tough Mudder

I've seen clips of tough mudder, a bit too extreme for me right now, wee are doing the mud hero race in August. It looks a bit more docile ;) I am hoping to at least survive

YZFoxxy, we are running in the 11 am wave if you are still looking to join

send me the link and i'll register right now! :)

Signed up with a bunch of people from my work for Aug 18th at 12pm.

I only found out about Tough Mudder after a bunch of my friends completed the one in Vancouver last weekend. Totally interested in registering, but I'm feeling like I need more time to train for this year's Toronto event in August. I'm pretty sure I'm going to register for next year either for the Vancouver or Toronto one...

That's exactly why im waiting till next year... i think i would pass out if i did this years without more prep time!

I am in the 9AM start on the Saturday. How are you guys training for it? I am doing 4 days weights and the other days the 4 circuit routine on the tough mudder site.

Running, running running, i want my cardio to be the best it can before i go, i have done the circuit the give out on the site, but havent been in the gym for a bit lol. are you running at all?

I'll be there providing medical support. Tough mudder is being held at Mount St. Louis Moonstone and the ski patrol (This is my home resort) has been asked to provide medical. So, if you screw up I'll be there to pick ya up and dust ya off and send ya on yer way.

Perfect, my team will be needing your services, no one has been training hahah

11am Saturday heat.

Training four days a week since January: running (trails over varying elevations), high intensity interval training, cycling and trx.

IMHO, running (particularly up and down a grade - not many portions are flat) should be your main focus.

I heard it actually isn't too bad to complete. I am going to wing it. When you think about it, its 17km with about 35 obstacles. So about an obstacle every 0.5km. I am starting at noon and from what I've heard there will be line ups at the obstacles. So as long as you can run for 0.5 km pretty fast then you will get small breaks every 0.5 kms. Hope this is the case, otherwise I am going to die.

I heard the obstacles are really tough though. Your a lot braver than me to just fluke it i guess. Let me know how it goes for ya... im gonna do it next year after i have enough prep time.
