Toronto to Ottawa in 4/5 days, suggestions?

I'm thinking of taking a little trip and wouldn't mind some input. I'd be leaving either from Kitchener on Saturday afternoon or from downtown Toronto on Sunday morning andI'd have to be in Ottawa for Wednesday evening, so that gives me 4ish days of time which I will obviously spend riding. I lived in Ottawa for years so I've ridden pretty much every well known road around that area already. I can generally do about 700-800ish km/day comfortably as long as its not all slab.

I was thinking of checking out northern Ontario/Algoma County where I'd go from Toronto to Sault St Marie, drive hwy 129/556, head over to Nippigon and then take the 11 to north bay and the 17 back to Ottawa.

The other option I was toying with was to go to the Adirondacks since I love mountains, just boot it down to Lake Placid and putter around there for a few days and then slab it back up to Ottawa.

Any other destinations or route suggestions?

Waste as little time as possible in Ontario and go through the US. Cross in Buffalo, dip down into PA and go east up through Adirondack park, maybe fart around in Vermont for a bit. Then cross in Prescott and scoot north for 1 hour and you're in Ottawa.

That sounds alright, after all I've been known to do some farting around...

On second thought I want to see some decent mountains this trip so Ontario is out. Planning is really stressing me out, I think I'll just leave and see what happens. On Day one I'll head down to Warren, PA and drive some of the roads there. I'll see where I end up and go from there.

We're doing this starting early Sat - 28 up to Petawawa is "okay" then some Quebec roads around Tremblant.

We were also considering Lake Placid

but decided on the this

For your purposed you could easily bat around Lake Placid then funnel up to Quebec at LaChute and head north from there.

Lake Placid seems like a good bet, I've done some Eastern Quebec but I don't usually get 5 days to putter around so I wanna do some distance.

So I'm good to leave Saturday morning, I think I might try to pull off the tail of the dragon

Day 1 - Front Royal
Day 2/3 - Skyline/Blue ridge mixed in with some slab to speed things up, hoping to get to the Dragon by Day 3
Day 4 - Start heading north to Ottawa
Day 5 - Arrive in Ottawa

An extra day would be nice but I don't get a lot of time off. An extra 5 days would be even nicer since I'm probably not going to be able to enjoy NC as much as I'd like but I could always head back. Feasible?
