There are probably other posts....feel free to link me to them if there are (I searched but couldn't find any).

I keep seeing scooters parked on the sidewalk in Toronto...is this now allowed? And can I park my bike with them?

I'll summarize all the posts that I could find in one minute that you couldn't: yes for scooters, for bikes NO, with some exceptions of randomly lenient meter maids.

Thanks, and you caught me, I was lazy and I couldn't even call what I did a "Search". More of a scan of the front page.

Actually, No. Parking is NOT allowed on the sidewalks or boulevards for any sort of plated motorized vehicle. The only exception is when locking up your scooter to a pole such as a bike rack or a newspaper stand. Then scooters can park on the sidewalk. This changed when scooters became a LSM class. In the eyes of the province scooters are very slow moving motorcycles.
So no parking on sidewalks. But honestly, go right ahead and do it. It's rare for a parking officer to ticket you.

I guess technically it will not be on the "sidewalk" There is a small bike rack area in the corner next to my office building which I think is owned by the landlord. I may give it a shot tomorrow and ask security on my way in if its allowed. Would be very convenient and also save me a lot on parking costs.

Update: No dice. Spoke with security this morning, they don't really care, however Police came by yesterday and ticketed all bikes there.

If it is on private property, and not grass, police (Or Toronto Parking) Can not give a ticket, they need authorization from an agent of the property (owner, manager, security, etc.) to write a ticket for a vehicle on their property. If the guard said they came, its because he or someone called em, or he lied. I have taking By-Law Enforcement Courses, and been working with Parking Enforcement (Private, certified by the city) for a long time now.
