was today epic and historic as,
1. George Russel was faster after 3hrs practice than Bottass after a year
2. Perez had a hand in F'ing LeClec and Red Bull, then gets a podium
3. Benz, the tightest team in F1, F'd up in the pits like nobody since Tyrel 40 yrs ago

As good as Russell is, and half the grid the Mercedes is and has been the dominant car since the the Turbo-hybrid era (2014)

Hamilton has been able to keep a compliant teammate since Rosberg beat him and then promptly retire in 2016

Russell will have to wait until Lewis retires before he gets a chance at Mercedes.

Lewis is a great Champion and will hopefully retire after he gets his 8th WDC next season.

80% of his wins have come in this period and many get tired of this dominance as we did with Redbull’s from 2010 -2013
 
I can see Russell getting a red bull seat next year, Albon is 'not making it' .
Race Point must be scratching holes in thier heads, Perez is out, yet takes a podium..... LOL

The Mercedes really is that good, not kicking russell, but the ability to power through the pack is really unbelievable. Imagine having the drive of your life and looking at next year racing the grocery cart again.
 
Pretty wild race. Sure shows how good that Mercedes is when Russell can jump in and do what he did.
Seems like Lewis Hamilton has unlimited luck, from teammates tires blowing out and his making it to the finish, to even today, the one race he isn't in the car the team messes up the pit stop horribly.

On the botched pit stop replay it showed the left rear tire rolling away almost into the track then the guy grabs it and brings it around the front and puts it on the right front wheel...I didn't get that.
 
George R ****** Williams car still made him finish down the order today.

The virtual safety car that caused the tire episode.....was the result of Aitken leaving the car nose behind from George R's vacant car

Screwed by his own car....
