Henry Kissinger died... FINALLY (YES, I know it is wrong to celebrate someone's death, BUT Kissinger was a special case).
There is a bunch of countries that will now have new national holidays... there will be a party tonight in Laos and Cambodia... and most of central america

Henry was talking to Hunter S. Thompson and he remarked that Hunter would piss on his grave when he died. Hunter told him "NO, I promised myself after I left the air force I would never line up for anything again". CLASSIC
I know Kissinger ain't going to hell... Satan doesn't want the competition.

I’m surprised he never had an assassin come after him. There were a lot of reasons to take a shot at him.

Highly recommend the 'Behind the Bastards' podcast on this guy.

Evil incarnate. Horrible human being that was responsible for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and whatever else you can throw at him.

Good riddance.

I had met the guy... don't remember a thing about HIM.
I was bartending a function at the Harbourcastle, for YPO (Young Presidents Organization) and Kissinger attended... with this young lady that was NOT Mrs. Kissinger. VIP function, less than 35 people.
She came to my bar wanting champagne, I was pouring Henkell Trocken (so you can tell it was a classy function). NO NO NO the flue is not big enough, she wants MORE. OK... she got some in a beer glass. By her second or third that wasn't big enough... she ended up drinking the crap out of a beer stein with ice. CLASS ACT I TELLS YA. The BEST part is when she yelled at me from across the room "GIVE ME MORE OF THAT NAZI ****!!!!"
The evening ended with the president of the YPO ripping a phone off the wall and attacking me with it cuz I had to close the bar at 2AM. He was pretty drunk, I just side stepped him and he hit the ground. It was pretty funny.
It was an interesting function, a week of nouveau riche dickheads that didn't know how to act in public. Worst function I have ever worked, it was truly awful.
I had a good time, Day one the president of McLean Hunter decided I was HIS exclusive bartender and he would shoo away any undesirables. I got to spend an afternoon with him and Pierre Elliot Trudeau... the only two that weren't looking down their noses at the staff. PET seemed like a nice guy.

Are you trying to imply that the Nobel Prizes are a crock?

I’ll take this with a grain of salt but if these numbers are accurate….he was a psychopath

Did you get that from the internet? If so, it’s gotta be true.

Considering that the US dropped more bombs in Laos than any other conflict prior…I’m going to hazard a guess they killed many many people.

As for actual quantities…those will never be truly known 100%

I'm no fan of the man, but this kind of thing is at least thoroughly misleading. Was he the Chief of Defense Staff, or Defense Secretary? No. Was he the POTUS? No. So he didn't have executive powers and didn't order anyone to be killed. What he did was to advocate for and led US foreign policies that supported murderous tinpot dictators around the world, so long as those dictators were pro-US (at least superficially) and anti-communist. Would those very same dictators (or their usurpers) have carried out the same sort of bloodshed if Kissinger didn't go to bat them? That's difficult to quantify. I would argue Robert McNamara was far more responsible for killing people in the 60s than Kissinger.
