To paint, or not to paint?

Hi, due to an accident i was given the opportunity to change all of my fairings, so i opted with a full black finish. Since the tank wasn't damaged i wasn't able to swap it out for a black tank so now it is still red. My question is should i paint or vinyl wrap? If paint how much do you think it would cost to paint the full tank gloss black? For the vinyl wrap i was thinking of doing like maybe a carbon fiber or just black.

Anyways, if anyone knows or recommend a good/ cheap place in the GTA to get it done could? and how long does this process usually take?

So there are a few other threads here about vinyl wrap and such.

I did something similar, my bike was silver but i decided to paint it matte black. The tank however, I did not want to paint and wanted to vinyl wrap it - big mistake.

Although it looks nice, after one season, the wrap has taken a beating and scratches are noticable. If I were you, I would spend the extra $40ish and 30 minutes of work (disassembling tank, removing gas) and get it properly painted with an automotive clear. Vinyl is cheap but the job is VERY time consuming and requires patience and expertise (especially for CF).
 
Why not look into aftermarket fairings?
Might be cheaper in the long run...

I got my tank repainted and dent removed in Waterloo on Colby drive from Janower for $350 and he did pretty good work..
 
Just to let you guys know, i can buy a brand new oem tank for 350$ Generally does a single colour paint job goes for around that price? if so might as well buy a new tank, can sell my old one for extra cash :D

Just throwing out my experience as an OEM tank for me is over $600+tax.

With my repair he removed a dent and repainted and replaced all the decals.

where are you getting a tank for 350?
