Does TMP allow Engine Ice?

engine ice must have the best marketing out there. people would rather spend thirty bucks on it than just use water for pennies

No kidding. I've had the same bottle of Water Wetter for years, and several people have borrowed it too. I think it's empty now actually but I still have a jug of water/WW mix.

I thought engine ice is safe to leave in for the winter time? I figured that was the advantage, if the tracks would let you run it.

Which reminds me, I hope we get no sub zero nights between now and Oct 8th :(

But the tracks won't let you run it.

If your bikes in a garadge it won't freeze that easily.

It was in the bike when I bought it.

It would have to be either a severe or a long lasting freeze to cause your engine to freeze up. Pretty much zero chance of any problem.

if any product have glycol (the stuff that keeps it from freezing) then its not legal for the track.
run tap water. i have been doing it for 22 years.

I caught someone at the last round running it. It puked all over pit out. Made such a mess we couldnt get it cleaned right and had to cone it off. Our rulebook clearly disallows it but obviously wasnt read.
Biggest problem is they paid AMA a fat sponsorship cheque and surprise surprise AMA made it legal, go figure. Then they slap legal all over their marketing and people take it as gospel.
I cannot speak for all orgs (neither can the AMA) but at SOAR it is not legal. At the momment the only coolant is water and/or water with water wetter. If there is another coolant out there that is gycol free (ethyene or propylene) please bring it forward and we will look at it.

My buddy is also amsoil brain washed and wanted to use thier product that's like WW. I wouldn't let him put it in the bike, I didn't see on the label anything about it being glycol free so why not just used what's accepted.

Ken, is the amsoil stuff ok?

Nope Amsoil like most Amsoil products likes to keep secrets they do not devulge their ingredients so unless I know whats in it I wont allow it.. Dominator Boost doesnt recommend use with water unless 50% antifreeze (glycol). The others are glycol antifreeze.
Now Motul (Mocool) is ok . Its purple in colour. There is another VERY close product called Motocool thats NOT ok its yellow and contains glycol.
Basically if it offers freeze protection it very likely contains glycol and is not ok. If it does not then it "may" be ok as long as the ingredients are listed.
Again this is for SOAR only I am not making any blanket statements for any other orgs.

I have the monster big MSDS book I got when I became an Amsoil dealer. I'll dig it out and see if it lists Glycol for the Dominator Coolant Boost.

EDIT: On the MSDS sheet is says that they didn't disclose the ingredient list as part of the MSDS certification?? LOL! Anyway, it says it's not specifically poisonous if ingested, and I looked up other coolants with Glycol and they are all listed as poisonous, so I would take a leap and say it doesn't contain glycol. And I know it means nothing, but AMA Pro-Racing and AFM have authorized AMSOIL Coolant Boost as "Track Safe".

Well thats good however according to the Amsoil site its not recommended for use with strickly water. So even if it is glycol free what are you going to do with it?
