TMP long weekend Sept 1,2,3 & intro school

The last long weekend of the summer is almost here
Get signed up for the track and wear out the tires that you want done before next year :)
Also for the people that have been curious about trying the track sign up for the track school. 9am-5pm
Tech is 7:30-8:30

You in?
 
Is there a place to camp? I just signed up for Sat on the website. I am not sure if I can stay the Sunday too, would I be able to sign up Saturday after the track day for the Sunday?
 
Pre registration is closed

But i will be showing up nice and early Saturday morning. Hopefully its not full...Hot Shoe or Interm. Group

Yes there's lots of space to came out. I'll be there all weekend, Fri. nite till Monday

If there are spots open for the Sunday then you should be able to sign up Saturday nite after the track day, if not then first thing Sunday morning when the gates open.
 
Thanks for the info! Ill be in the intermediate. Im getting a bit confused reading posts... the Saturday Sept 1 day is just a regular track day? OR is it "Intro to Track"? OR is it split... people who just want to ride the track one session and intro to track another? Anyone know the details?

Sept 1St is a FULL track day running from 9am till 5pm. The intro to track is in class from 3pm to 5pm. Then on the track after 5pm when the regular track day is over.
 
The intro to track will be run at normal track hours this time, not at 3:30. At least this is what I was told.

Also, how late will the gates be open on Friday night? I'll be coming after work since I'm not partial to being up at 5 am to drive out there.

I was informed that the track school is starting at the regular track day times (tech 7:30-8:30, riders meeting 8:30, in-class begins at 9am). So not exactly sure how they are going to run the track day. I'd imagine there would be a "school" group/session along with the regular groups.

I called TMP directly and was told they would allow admission right until 11pm Friday night.

What's the cost for beginner? Can I bring my bandit 650?

I'm presuming I have to make my bike track ready as per TMP rules?

The intro to track school on Sept 1st is $168 plus HST. And you sure damn can!

It's actually GWB rules, but yep. Remove turn signals, mirrors. Tape over tail light, head light(s) and speedo. Bring zip ties to tie up your kickstand. Remove coolant and put in water with water wetter. That's about it! For gear you have to a have a full leather suit (one piece or two piece that zips together), boots, gauntlet gloves.

I remember when i did the track intro school in 09 it was a lot different lol But ayill, one of yhe best things i have done for riding and getting knowledge about track riding. I recommend it to everyone who is looking into starting to do track days

I think I did it the same time you did, the first one they ever did. We had an evening session.... it was basically an hour of class/instruction then almost 3 hours of open track. Ride-advice-ride-advice non-stop. It was awesome and especially helpful for a first-timer.

Ya, it was the first one they did. Small world. Didnt recongnize ya, but im sure we both didnt know who we were. You coming out saturday?
 
Ha that's right - that was a long time ago, you had the same year R6 as I did. You came to me when your shifter broke and I referred you to the two other guys. Glad you got that worked out.

I don't have time for a full trackday this weekend.... I might show up for some drag strip fun on Monday if it's open but I'll have to see if I have the time.

You have a good memorie lol i did run my R6 back then ....and i dont remember forum names and faces when im at the track ..i suck at memorizing anything! Well, hopefully you can make it out to drags
