There's two sessions on the 25th. The day is a GWB event I believe, and the 5PM-dusk is Turn2.
I plan to be at the day session, weather permitting.
(Probably my last TD this year)

- Racer5 Race licensed On-Track Marshalls will be on hand all day long for riders looking for tips and help on track!
- Racer5 Racer Development Program courses for people wanting to try out the trackday experience!
all you need to do is show up with your Gear (gear rental also avaliable) we provide the bikes, instructors, canopies, etc!
All for only $279! INCLUDING THE TRACKDAY!
Try out a trackday without having to transport your bike, risk damage, use your tires, fuel, and get taught by some of the best instructors in the industry! - Perfect for first timers!
Here is the outline for the August 25th Trackday at TMP hosted by Racer5.
For people unsure of what group they should be signing up for here
are our guidelines for each group :
Red : Experienced Trackday Riders/ Racers
Safe passing allowed anywhere on the track.
Yellow: Intermediate level Trackday Riders
No passing once the bike you are attempting to pass has started leaning into a turn.
Passing during braking before a turn, and corner exit permissible as long as you maintain a minimum of 6 feet between yourself and the bike you are attempting to pass.
Green: Beginner level
No passing except for the front staights, maintain a minimum 8 feet between the bike you are passing.

8:00- 8:25am - Free Track intro session, recommended for all first time trackday participants.
8:30am - 8:45 - Riders Meeting

1:00pm - Track sessions resumes
5:00pm - End of Day

Racer5, will you be employing and enforcing any rules? Will you also be breaking up sessions into experience groups? When I went before (not through R5) it was a retarded free-for-all with a ridiculous mix of experience levels out there at once. In short, it was a dangerous place to be and wholly unpleasant unless you were Intermediate or Advanced.
Also, what are your tech rules on the bikes? Mine will pass with flying colours, but a friend of mine's bike is a bit sketchy. Squared off tires and the ball is missing off the end of his clutch lever...

I don't get this. Intermediate and advanced groups were ok but novice was a little crazy? That sounds like most track days. Sessions are not broken up into experience groups. There are three sessions, red, yellow, green. How much track time would you get if they split each of those sessions up? wtf.

What's with the attitude?
If you re-read my post, I said that there was no group differentiation at the TD I did at TMP previously. It was a free-for-all. That's dangerous. Green folks are not used to being passed, and the reds are kept back by the greens. I'm asking Racer 5 if they break the groups up on the track.
Get it now, or is there some easier way I could put this so as to not receive more of your "WTFs"? Should my next post be phonetic or are monosyllabic words ok with you?

Ok, I apologize for the confusion. I thought calling it a free-for-all was clear, but I was wrong. To clarify: all experience levels were on the track at the same time, and that caused a potentially dangerous situation. Especially when you have riders with little to no track experience getting freaked out being passed in corners, and experienced track riders being held up by slow riders. It didn't make any sense to not break it up into green - yellow - red sessions to keep that sort of thing from happening. That's what I meant by a free-for-all TD.
I crashed there on my first lap and was super slow afterward. And because I was out there with yellow and red riders, I ended up spending very little time on the track. Coming off a crash, being passed very close in corners, holding bad lines out of fear of getting hit...recipe for disaster. That said, I spent more time in the pits than on the bike. That wasn't exactly fair to me or anyone else on the track.
Just signed up. It will be my fourth Thursday with Racer 5 and TMP. They do an awesome job, and the lighter turnout on Thursday makes for more clear track and less missed track time cleaning up after various crashes etc. I did the May 21 Saturday with GWB there and, comparatively, it was a clusterf***. The car trailers taking up half the pit area sure didn't help (drag races the same day), and GWB certainly did the best they could, but it just can't compare to the more relaxed Thursday events that Racer 5 puts on.
See you folks there! Weather report currently says 40% chance of rain, so I may leave the M3s on in case we have a damp track. Would be fun to get the chicken strips off my street tires anyway....

I can't recall anyone at the Racer5 tech. asking if I was running Water Wetter but only because they are familiar with my bike... I don't think Fawaz lets bikes with coolant on the track.
We are currently at the Nationals at Mosport with our Students in the CBR challenge so we haven't been able to attend to these posts. Best way to contact us would be to email our info line at info@racer5.ca.That being said I did have to take time away to correct this very erroneous statement, we have never allowed a bike on track with coolant or any glycol based additive. With our very close affiliation with racing organizations, rider education, and comminent to safety it would take quite an imagination (and second hand information) to think we would ever knowingly allow a bike with coolant on track. We ask that riders flush their coolant, tape their headlights, tie up kickstands as well as ensure that their bikes are in safe operation condition. Tech information can be found on the TMP website, the same website you would need to go to register for a day with us.Thanks,Fawaz
