TMP August 22?

Picking up forks on Tuesday, If I get time to install them by Thurs I may head down there.

Plan on being there on Thursday.

Might have to bring my kids and a babysitter though.

I'll be the guy back in grass away from the track so they don't get run over.

Guys with bikes still running these tmp events? I havent been in many years(bogie hound). Still running a good day over there? Thanks.

I don't know if GWB still run any days there, but the Thursdays are mostly run by TMP themselves. They are okay, but pretty minimal tech inspection and the riders' meeting is kind of a joke. They are trying to improve (last one I was at, at least they went through the flags), but they are still a bit lax on explaining the rules to everyone. Uli now has a separate meeting after the main meeting for anyone new to the track - again, that is an improvement.

I have no issues attending the TMP days because I know the place well and trust myself to prep the bike properly. Anyone who is new to track riding or iffy on bike prep might not be totally comfortable. I like Uli and his crew and am happy that they offer so many track days, but I wish they would try to emulate Racer 5 or Pro 6 a bit more on how they run things.

Seeing as how my mosport plan fell through looks like I get to do the next best thing.....to sitting at home and not riding at all, and come to this outing.

YellowDuck, are you coming? We've got a mission on our hands, remember? :)

Would love to but I have a free pass for the R4S day on Saturday at TMP, so I am doing that instead. Trust me, if I manage a 23.x you will be the first to know :) I like my chances because 1:24.4 was not that hard last time, and I am pretty sure there is 0.5 or more left in turns 4 and 5, plus maybe cutting the chicane curbing.

Kinda depends on how much traffic there is, and also if my rear tire is pooched or not. But I'll be surprised if I don't manage it.

No pressure...

Haha, no pressure, huh? ;)

My tires are starting to wear out too. I'll probably flip the rear after the 22nd (in preparation for GBM on the Saturday). I know people flip their tires all the time, but knowing how the tire is actually made, it kinda makes me nervous putting the overlap of the layers to run 'against the grain' so to speak.

Good luck!

Dunlop Dave knows Everything there is to know about race tires and he flips them for us all weekend at soar, there are guys much faster then me that have them flipped all the time. Flip them and don't even have any worries about it

Wait, flip "them", you mean flip the front too? Man, I'm getting nervous now.. Dave @ RIPP said "not recommended" when I asked about the Bridgestone slicks...though I understand being the Bridgestone rep, he is supposed to say that.

:( I should have had mine flipped at GB, right side of front tire is starting to take a beating.

Can't beat the race weekend price.

I'm a proud owner of this and this. Using these two things (you can get by without the second item, it just makes it easier), I've probably changed my tires more than 15 times already (few practice runs, then many times just changing my mind which tires to run alternating between slicks and street tires). Try to beat that price ;) It's actually more work to remove/install the wheels than it is to change the tires.

I give up LOL

I flip mine front to back :D

Thursday 60 percent chance of rain :(
