This is still worth it with a 25% hit on the dollar?

It's definitely not worth sitting in queue at the border anymore, unless you have a weekday free to go down there

I. Wouldn't bother crossing border with the exchange rate and potential hassles. Give these guys a shot awesome pricing. I got a set of 19" tires and rims for my previous Mercedes for $1200 all in.http://tirecanada.ca/

Check out Simply Tire. I've always found their price to be very competitive and their service and quality top notch.

Car tires doesn't seem to be worth it right now with the exchange rates, when we were at par +/- it was a good deal, currently no.

as for lines, the past 2 Saturdays I have had to go over, lines are almost non-existent. Maybe wait a couple cars each way They have peaks but with a bit of planning, they can be avoided.

Canadian customs have asked me if I had any work done on the bike while away. You are allowed emergency repairs but not outright shopping. A sharp border agent (Or one having a bad day) can make the tires very expensive.

Pretty sure if you spend 48 hours you could use your personal exemption of $800.00 to cover the cost of the tires. Drive down install tires in New York, go to PA for a day or two ride. Come back declare tires under exemption, good to go.
