I have an 06 katana 750, I wondering if I can put a larger tire on the rear. Currently it has a 150/70zr17, hoping I can jump up to a 160 or 170. Can this be done???

160 maybe, depending on chain and fender clearance. But why? What are you trying to achieve?

A bigger tire may look cool, but it will mess up the handling. The rim width will cause the wider tire to be pinched in at the sides, making the shape a bit different to what is should be. Many have done it, just check chain clearance.
