Tire Scam-What should I do

I bought a pair of brand new Michelin tires for the front at an Active Green Ross in GTA a couple of weeks ago, and had a wheel alignment done by them too. The technician there performed 2 alignments after couple of road tests but still couldn't get the steering wheel back to the center (slightly pointing to the left), and the car pulled to the left badly too. His performed the 3rd alignment again and managed to bring the steering wheel closer to the center but the car still pulled to the left at high speed on highway (still pulled at low speed but not much).
I was suspicious about the tires because I was almost running into an accident, not expecting the pulling at high speed. So I dropped it off at a local Honda dealership and had the alignment inspected. I was told the alignment on 4 wheels were all off, and they fixed them, but the steering wheel is still off the center and the car still pulls to the left. The dealership recommends replacing the set of new tires since these problems happened only after the set of new tires installed.
Apparently, the technician at AGR messed up the alignment at his 3rd attempt to bring back the steering wheel closer to the center. The steering wheel looked ok visually but the pulling problem didn't go away, and it showed up especially at high speed.
I went back there with the alignment printout by the dealership, questioning them why 3 attempts but the alignment still messed up. The shop owner told me he wanted me to bring the car back again so that his guy could check it up again. I demanded a replacement of the set but he refused.
I contacted Michelin the manufacturer about the problems, and they told me Michelin has a 30 day satisfaction guaranty policy. I was advised to bring the car back and they would have to give me another set. Their customer care dept. even called the tire shop that I was coming to have a replacement. I was at the shop today, but shop owner and the shop manager played dumped, pretending not knowing what was going on and asked what was wrong with the car and the tires. I reminded them the tire manufacture sent me there for a replacement but they still refused to do so. All they wanted was to let them test drive the car again, and perform some tire rotations, and other diagnosis tests. I wouldn't let any of them take my car away for a test drive again since who knows what could happen to the alignment that has just been done properly by the dealership.
I reported this back to Michelin and still waiting for their response and reaction. They have been very apologetic and been very helpful so far, and even considered a replacement to be done at another tire shop.
I was considering taking this to small claim court since it really wasted my time and gas and money, not to mentioned the stresses.
I am looking for options and advices. If I have to take it to a small claim court for compensations, I may not have the time to do it, and was wondering if it's worth it to hire a paralegal to represent me, and how much I am looking at for the service.
Thanks!

they are a chain service right? maybe talk to active's head Hq first before going to small claims and explain what's up.

I remember some GTA locations if that particular chain being caught on hidden camera ripping people off. I think it was on the show W5

The AGR in Oshawa screwed up my gf's car. Need to take it to the dealer to get diagnosed what they did to it. They used a welding torch on it. No lie. Haven't gotten around to it though.

I would not let AGR wash my car.
AGR (Ritson Rd. Oshawa) installed tires backwards on my camaro rims, or more specifically swapped the left/right rims when re-installing them. When I took it back in they said they'd fix it. Somehow they put the front rims on the back, and the back rims on the front (back rims are wider than the front rims). Took it back in and they said they would charge me to fix it AGAIN? lol. Took it to another shop and they swapped them all back around so a) the tires were going the right way and b) the right rims were on front and back, free of charge!! lol. They said "this from AGR? Lucky your beads are even seated, they just install, inflate, send customers off!" Yikes.

I think you have already done a lot by posting this. AGR has probably lost thousands of dollars worth of business. I too have had bad experiences at AGR and I would never, ever go back there again. I would keep following up with Michelin and the AGR head office. Try contacting the president of each company.

That's as bad as taking your car to Canadian Tire for service.

I probably would rather take my car for service to CT than AGR. Had one good experience with the one on Kipling in Etobicoke, and one horrible experience with the one on Queensway in Etobicoke.

Went to AGR at steeles and don mills, NEVER AGAIN... ^ ditto on the "same as canadian tire"

Go to a proper mechanic

Sounds like incompetent service but I don't see the scam? The fact they wouldn't honour Michelin's guarantee?

After the alignment was fixed by the Honda dealership, the steering wheel still is off the center and pulls to the left at high speed. These conditions are exactly the same after the technician at AGR performed the 2nd alignment before. In other words, he did the right thing at the first 2 attempts but still couldn't make the problems away because of the damned tires, so he decided to twist the alignment around to make it look ok visually on the steering wheel, but the pulling would show badly at high speed.
It cost me another alignment service at the Honda dealership to find out all this, and had the mess cleaned up but the defective tires. The amazing part was when I went back to the tire shop reasoning all this with the shop owner, I was hoping they would correct the problem by giving me a replacement. I was so wrong because he insisted it's not the tires, and he wanted to give me another wheel alignment. I must be really dump if I let them touch the alignment again, or even go for a test drive.

Talk to Michelin and tell them that you no longer want to deal with AGR and would like to take it elsewhere. Hopefully they would be willing to absorb the re/re cost but even if they didnt I would still rather pay a little more and have it done right.

It is very unusual for tires to cause any sort of left/right pull when new. More likely then not your alignment was butchered BOTH by AGR and Honda and no one wanted to own up.

Also - to those changing their tires in the future, if by any chance your alignment is good, don't mess with it! Changing tires, doesn't affect the alignment.

As for AGR, they once charged me for a brand new rim, which I found out was a used one, badly repainted. They have also stolen a portable CD player (that was around 15 years ago) from my car. From then on, I have never used any of their shops and never recommended them to anyone.

Finally got a pair of replacement from Michelin and had the tires installed at another shop. There is no more pulling at high speed. This didn't come without persistence and a fight. Michelin attempted to close the file after AGR told them that the problems could possibly be contributed by this and that. I said assuming the tires are good and perfect, but I just didn't like them and I wasn't satisfied. So they had to stick with their 30 day satisfaction guaranty policy and gave me another set of tires.
Lesson has been learned and I guess from now on I will just stick with big stores like Cosco or dealerships for any future tires replacements.
