Is it ok to buy new tire made two years ago with dot 4209

Two years ago and it hasn't been used (not an ex-race tire, didn't come off some other bike)? No problem.

Week 42 is not quite the end of 09, more like October. If it's for the track I'd say no. And why do you have to settle for old tires, are you getting a deal?

i have done track days with 2 year old scrubs...no big deal then again i was only doing 1 17 at tmp back then... then again i like it when it slided..

As long as they have been stored properly then they would be fine.

If you're not going to be able to use the tire up within it's serviceable life (approx. 5 years) then I'd look for a newer tire.
